Volatile Bolotin

Alex Bolotin
Alex Bolotin
Alex Bolotin opened the pot with an early-position raise to 3,500. Gissel Heredia made the call from the cutoff seat, as did Benny Bianca from the button.

Three handed then, the flop rolled out {5-Spades} {6-Hearts} {6-Clubs}. Bolotin continued out with a bet of 7,000. Heredia called, while Bianca opted to move all in for an additional 20,000 on top. Bolotin went into the tank for a minute or two before making the call, having his man well covered. Heredia ducked out.

Showdown:
Bolotin: {K-Diamonds} {K-Clubs}
Bianca: {6-Diamonds} {8-Diamonds}

Bianca stood to await his fate, in fine shape for a double up. Unfortunately for him, a big bolt of lightning struck him on the turn. The dealer ripped off the {K-Hearts}, improving Bolotin to the big full house and leaving Bianca dead to the case six. The river {3-Hearts} was a complete blank, and Bianca's day is done.

When Bolotin was asked about the hand, he was unaware of his two-out luck. He misread his opponent's hand as {7-Diamonds} {8-Diamonds}, thinking he had the open-ended straight draw. The table insisted that Bianca had flopped trips, drawing a dry, "Wow," from the diminutive Bolotin.

With that pot, Alex Bolotin has vaulted all the way up to 120,000.
