Casetta Pays Off Lichtenberger's Flush

Andrew Lichtenberger had position on Dan Casetta in a raised pot with solid flop action. Casetta checke the turn, {Q-Clubs} {2-Diamonds} {5-Clubs} {6-Clubs}, then called 225,000 from Lichtenberger. Casetta checked again when the river fell {J-Hearts}. Lichtenberger pushed 440,000 chips over the betting line.

Casetta clearly didn't like that bet, but couldn't force himself to fold whatever hand he held. He called after thirty seconds. Lichtenberger turned over the nuts, {A-Clubs} {8-Clubs}, to rake in a big pot and basically reset the chip counts to what they were at the start of heads-up play.

"Nice hand, nice hand," said Casetta.

Casetta Shows a Bluff

There's starting to become a bit of a hynpotic lull to the end of this final table. It was shattered just now by something we haven't seen so far: a player showing a bluff.

Andrew Lichtenberger made his standard button raise to 75,000, with Dan Casetta calling. Both players checked the {5-Spades} {4-Clubs} {5-Hearts} flop. Casetta bet 85,000 on the {K-Hearts} turn card. Andrew Lichtenberger called.

The river was the {3-Hearts}. Casetta checked, then raised to 240,000 after Lichtenberger bet 100,000. Lichtenberger quickly folded.

"Ok, one time," said Casetta. He opened {J-Diamonds} {8-Diamonds}.

Dan Casetta raised from the button to 80,000 and Andrew Lichtenberger called from the big blind. The flop came down {Q-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{7-Spades} and Lichtenberger checked. Casetta fired 120,000 and Lichtenberger check-raised to 300,000. After thinking for a little bit, Casetta made the call.

The turn was the {4-Diamonds} and Lichtenberger checked. Casetta checked behind with about 760,000 chips left.

The river completed the board with the {Q-Hearts}. Lichtenberger checked and then Casetta moved all in. His shove was roughly pot-sized and after a couple minutes in the tank, Lichtenberger mucked his hand.

Lichtenberger dropped back to 2.2 million and Casetta moved back up to 1.55 million.

Chewy Leaning on Casetta

Slowly and subtly Andrew Lichtenberger is putting pressure on the shorter-stacked Dan Casetta. Lichtenberger is winning the key medium-sized pots right now. Twice in a row he opened his button for 75,000 and got a call from Casetta. In the first pot, Casetta check-called 95,000 more after the flop came {7-Spades} {8-Clubs} {A-Clubs}, but check-folded for 250,000 on the {10-Spades} turn.

In the second pot, Casetta led into Lichtenberger on a flop of {4-Diamonds} {j-Diamonds} {4-Hearts}. Lichtenberger called, then took the pot down with a bet of 200,000 after Casetta checked the {8-Hearts} turn.

Lichtenberger Shoves on Casetta

Dan Casetta limped the button and then Andrew Lichtenberger raised to 90,000 from the big blind. Casetta called.

The flop came down {J-Clubs}{5-Spades}{2-Clubs} and Lichtenberger fired 120,000. Casetta raised to 280,000. After some time in the tank, Lichtenberger moved all in. Casetta was drawn back by the shove, but eventually folded. He claimed to only have a five in his hand. He's down to 1.3 million while Lichtenberger moved back up to 2.45 million.

A Tank but No Showdown

We haven't seen Andrew Lichtenberger make many deep dives into the think tank during this tournament apart from one in a hand against Steve O'Dwyer yesterday. But Lichtenberger just took a solid 90 seconds on the river against Dan Casetta.

Lichtenberger opened pre-flop for 75,000, with Casetta calling. Casetta led into Lichtenberger for 95,000 on a {5-Diamonds} {3-Diamonds} {4-Hearts} flop. Lichtenberger called. Both players checked the {Q-Clubs} turn. Casetta then led into Lichtenberger again, for 200,000, when the river fell {K-Clubs}.

Lichtenberger sat silently and still for 90 seconds before mucking his hand.

Chewy Keeps Up the Aggression

We've seen Andrew Lichtenberger move all in twice in recent hands. The first all in came in pre-flop action. Lichtenberger opened for 75,000, then shoved after Dan Casetta three-bet to 220,000. Casetta folded.

A few hands later, Casetta opened for 75,000 pre-flop, with Lichtenberger calling. Both players checked the {K-Spades} {9-Clubs} {4-Clubs} flop. Lichtenberger fired 95,000 when the turn came {J-Diamonds}. Casetta called to the {6-Hearts} river, a card which Lichtenberger checked. Casetta tried a bet of 160,000, but once again Lichtenberger raised all in.

"Wow," said Casetta. After maybe fifteen seconds, he folded. Then he jokingly added, "You are a bitch." Lichtenberger smiled. Bitch or not, he now has 2.875 million chips to Casetta's 875,000.

Lichtenberger Back from Break with a Fury

Lichtenberger putting the pressure on now
Lichtenberger putting the pressure on now
Andrew Lichtenberger has been adding a lot of chips to his stack after the break. First, he called a raise to 80,000 from Dan Casetta who was on the button. The flop came down {K-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{2-Clubs} and Lichtenberger checked. Casetta fired 55,000 and Lichtenberger called. After the turn came the {4-Clubs}, both players checked. The river was also checked by each after the {10-Spades} fell.

"Tens up," announced Lichtenberger, tabling the {10-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}. Casetta mucked.

Casetta opened a hand shortly thereafter to 75,000 from the button and Lichtenberger three-bet him to 225,000. Casetta folded and more chips moved Lichtenberger's way.

On the hand after that, Lichtenberger raised the button to 75,000 and Casetta called. After the flop was checked by both players when the {A-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{4-Diamonds} fell, Casetta fired 110,000 on the turn where the {2-Clubs} fell. Lichtenberger made the call and then the river produced the {7-Hearts}. Both players checked fifth street and Lichtenberger won the pot with his {K-Diamonds}{4-Spades} for a pair of fours.

A couple hands later, Lichtenberger raised to 75,000 from the button and Casetta called. The flop was {8-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} and Casetta check-called Lichtenberger's 95,000-chip continuation bet. The turn put the {8-Diamonds} on board and Casetta checked again. Lichtenberger fired a hefty 250,000 and Casetta called again.

The river went check, check after the {5-Clubs} hit the felt. Lichtenberger tabled the {5-Hearts}{4-Hearts}, having flopped a straight and bested Casetta's {K-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}.

After all of that, Casetta is down to 1.218 million and Lichtenberger holds 2.532 million.
