Table Talk... Or a Lack Thereof

Day 1 was a relatively jolly day here in the Events Center at Harrah's. The tables were abuzz with chatter, both poker and non-poker related. Occasionally, a full table would break out in hysterical laughter at a well-timed comment from a player or dealer.

Things are a bit different on Day 2 though. About half the field is secluded away under their headphones, sitting statue-still with eyes darting around the table. Gone are the jokes and the laughter, replaced instead by an air of seriousness and gravity.

Gavin Smith noticed. Leaning back in his chair, he peered over at Table 4. "Where's Matt Stout and why can't we hear you yet?"

"I'm starting off a little slow today, I'm sorry," came the reply from Stout, showing a slight smirk. With the talkative "Captain" Tom Franklin and Kathy Liebert at the same table, it's likely only a matter of time before the conversation once again turns jolly.
