Landry Trying to Take Over
. The blinds checked, and Gavin Smith took the first stab, firing out 24,000 chips. Before the chips even settled into the felt, big blind Kai Landry announced, "All in," check-raising the rest of his chips into the pot. This decision took Gavin aback as he sat back in his chair, shoulders slouched. It would be at least 3-5 minutes before he decided what to do. He counted and re-counted his chips. He checked-and re-checked his hole cards. He scratched and re-scratched his head. Finally, and apparently with much uncertainty, Gavin released his hand.
Kai Landry has been getting a bit frisky of late, and it's not surprising that Smith gave him a bit of a sideways look after folding. We'll wait and see how many more times Smith and the other pros let Landry make those bold plays.
