Alex Santiago has (we are told) been steadily accumulating chips all day with relentless three-betting and some well-timed cards. He just claimed another victim after three-betting from the small blind. Santiago's opponent, a player he had tangled with several times, opted to four-bet shove with pocket 6s for about 45,000. Santiago snap-called with pocket aces, which held up to vault Santiago to 210,000 in chips.
John Land has just been eliminated. He was super short and got the last of his chips in with the only to run into two aces. There was no help for Land and he has been eliminated from the tournament.
On one of the last hands of the level, Melissa Hayden three-bet all in for 20,300 after the under-the-gun player opened to 2,800 and was flat-called by a player in middle position. The under-the-gun player thought for a while but folded. Not so the middle-position player.
