There was about 1,000 in the pot and a board reading when Mark "Pegasus" Smith bet 800 from middle position. The player in the cutoff folded, but both the button and Chris Tryba made the call.
The fell on the turn and Chris Tryba checked to Smith, who fired out 3,300. The bet was enough to get his opponents to fold and he took down the pot, increasing his stack to around 21,000 in the process.
Will "Monkey" Souther limped under the gun and the player in Seat 3 followed suit. The button then put in a raise to 725 and both Souther and Seat 3 made the call. All three players proceeded to check the flop, leading to the on the turn.
Souther led out with a bet of 600 and both his opponents opted to call. The appeared on the river and Souther continued with a bet of 1,100. Seat 3 thought about it for a minute then mucked, while the button quickly raised to 3,675. Souther seemed perplexed and asked his opponent for a count. Eventually he made the call and then mucked in frustration as the button showed for a runner-runner straight.
Souther dropped down to around the original starting stack of 20,000.
T.J. Cloutier was short-stacked with around 6,000 when the following hand developed. The under the gun player limped and action folded to Cloutier in the small blind. He put in a raise to 800, Will "Monkey" Souther folded in the big blind, and UTG called.
The flop came down and Cloutier led out for a bet of about 1,000. The UTG player pushed all in and Cloutier snap-called for his stack of 5,125. Cloutier showed and UTG showed his , simply saying, "Nice hand."
"Not yet it ain't," Cloutier replied as the hit the turn and the appeared on the river. "Now it is," he chuckled as he doubled to around 12,000.
