As the field, which is now down to 142 players, continues to shrink, tables are being broke and players relocated to the open spots. Unfortunately, one of those chairs was formerly occupied by Ben Smith, who has hit the rail.
On a flop of , an player in early position bet 6,000 and Ryan Barnes flatted behind, leading to the on the turn. This time, the EP player bet 7,000, Barnes raised to 17,000, and a call ensued.
The on the river put three diamonds on the board and the EP player led out for 13,000. Barnes raised enough to put his opponent all in and received a call. Barnes showed for flopped trips, but it was no good as his opponent had caught up with his to make a flush. Barnes was left with just 15,000 after the hand.
Jean "Prince" Gaspard, who had jumped out to the chip lead earlier in this event, has had a reversal of fortune. On a flop of , Gaspard moved all in with the and was called by the of his opponent. He was in desperate need of a three or diamond, but both the turn and river blanked.
Blair Hinkle raised to 13,500 from middle position and had a player in late position call all in.

It was a coinflip until the flop came down , giving Hinkle top set. The turn left his opponent drawing dead and the river rubbed salt in the wound by giving Hinkle quads. He is up to 30,000.
Hugh Jordan Drummond, who won his first ring in an event earlier in this Circuit stop and final tabled another, is trying his luck in the Main Event. So far things are going well as Drummond sits with around 100,000.
To top it off, Drummond was the favorite to lock up the Harrah's St. Louis Casino Champion title and thus become one of the 100 qualifiers for the National Championship $1 Million Freeroll next month. With a strong finish in the Main Event, he'd likely be able to do just that.
On a flop of , Aaron Massey bet 8,000 and received a call from the player in the cutoff. When the peeled off on the turn, Massey fired out 20,000 and the cutoff tanked. To call would mean all his chips, and that is exactly what he did:

Massey was in great shape and needed to dodge an seven, eight, or queen on the river. It didn't seem too hard considering he held two queens, but the poker gods can be cruel, and they were this time as they delivered the . Massey dropped to 50,000 after the hand.
Randy Weigel got all in preflop for his last 21,000 or so with against the pocket eights of his opponent. Weigel couldn't catch on the flop nor turn, but an on the river gave him the win and a much needed double to 42,000.
Jeff Bryan, not-so-affectionately known as "The Beast", appears to have been eliminated from the tournament. At least we couldn't find him as we toured the room.
