Houchins vs. Andress

Level 17 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

Patrick Houchins and John Andress were heads up in a raised pot with the board reading {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}. Houchins checked, Andress bet 7,500 and Houchins check-raised to 27,500. Andress called.

The turn was the {q-Hearts} and Houchins led for 32,000. Andress min-raised to 64,000 and Houchins called.

Both players checked the {7-Clubs} on the river and Houchins opened {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts} for a pair of eights. Andress mucked his hand and was angry at himself for not firing a third bullet. Houchins slapped the table with elation and raked in the monster pot to push his stack to 360,000 chips.

Andress got some back the very next hand though. He opened with {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} and Brett Rehfeld moved all in for around 20,000 with {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}. Andress called and the board ran {10-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{a-Spades}{3-Clubs}, eliminating Rehfeld and increasing Andress' stack back to 130,000 chips.
