Brewer Loses the Raising War

Level 9 : 400/800, 100 ante

Christine Brewer opened for 600 and Rommy Lipman raised to 1,800 directly behind her. Action folded back around to Brewer and she called. The flop fell {2-Hearts} {6-Spades} {6-Clubs}, Brewer checked and Lipman bet 1,725. Brewer check-raised to 4,400 and Lipman re-raised to 9,100.

That furrowed Brewer's brow and she was clearly not happy with how things had progressed. She laid the hand down and shot a glare at Lipman.

"Did you have a pair?" Lipman asked.

She nodded and added, "Bigger than the board," she said under her breath.

Milam's Sevens Are No Good

Kenny Milam fired out a bet of 1,100 on a flop of {10-Spades}{7-Spades}{K-Diamonds}. He received one caller and the two players saw fourth street come {10-Clubs}. They both checked their options and the river brought the {6-Diamonds}. Milam checked again and his opponent flicked two T1,000 chips into the middle for a bet of 2,000. Milam called, tabling {8-Clubs}{7-Clubs} for a pair of sevens, only to find that his opponent had rivered a straight with {9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}.

Kirk Drags In a Pot

Level 9 : 400/800, 100 ante

With a board reading {J-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}, a player checked to Tripp Kirk who fired out 1,000. The river brought the {7-Hearts} and both players checked.

"I don't think I have the winner," said Kirk as he tabled {A-Spades}{J-Hearts}. Much to Kirk's delight, he did in fact have the winner, as his opponent flipped up {J-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}. Kirk was able to add a bit to his stack and is currently sitting on about 14,500.

Clinkscales tanked for a short while and then folded the {A-Spades} face up.
