Elezra Looks Up His Opponent

The player in the cutoff opened the pot with a raise to 550 which was called by both of the blinds including Eli Elezra in the small blind. The flop was {9-Clubs}{9-Spades}{6-Diamonds} and both players checked to the preflop raiser who continued for 1000. Only Elezra called.

The turn was the {3-Diamonds} which brought two quick checks. The river was the {k-Spades} and for a third time, Elezra checked. The player in position took one more stab at it with a bet worth 1,500. Elezra tossed in the chips as his opponent meekly turned over his {k-Clubs}{q-Clubs}. Elezra tabled {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds} for just Ace-high but it was good enough to ship the pot and get him back over the starting stack.
