We quickly lost two more players and we are now down to our final 27 players. A full list of our finalists with their current chip count, along with their new table and seat assignment will be available shortly.
With 29 players left at four tables, the average chip stack is just under 230,000. Surprisingly there are only five people in the room with a stack larger than that. And until a second ago, before Chris Cronin doubled up a player that started the hand with about 150,000, there were only four. Joe Kuether, Brandon Cantu, Raymond Dandrea and Cronin are all at different tables and they will look to use this significant chip advantage before tables are redrawn at 27 players.
We reported earlier that Phong "Turbo" Nguyen was on the comeback trail from less then one big blind, but his run has come to an end. Facing a raise to 19,000, Nguyen shipped all in for 80,0000 more. A player behind Nguyen reraised, and the original raiser got out of the way.
Nguyen was in rough shape, as his
was up against his opponent's
. The board ran out

, and Nguyen's cinderella run was extinguished.

Matthew Chang has been grinding a short stack for what seems like the last six hours, surviving one all in bet after the other. However, it finally caught up to him, and he lost a race for his tournament life.
Action folded all the way around to the small blind, who open shipped all in on Chang. Chang looked down at his cards, thought for just a few seconds, and called.
Chang:

Chang's opponent was happy to see that it was a race situation, and he was ecstatic when the flop came down

. The
on the turn was a great card for Chang, as it gave him flush and straight outs. However, the
hit the river, and Chang was sent to the rail.

Chris Cronin raised first into the pot to 17,000 before being three-bet to 38,500 by the player to his left. The small blind, who had only 28,500 remaining, moved all in and Cronin called to create a 20,000-chip side pot.
The flop was

. Cronin check-called his opponents 39,000-chip bet. The turn was the
and Cronin checked again. His opponent fired 55,000 this time and Cronin called.
The river was the
which prompted another quick check from Cronin. This time his opponent slowed down by checking as well. Cronin flipped over
confident that it was good. Indeed it was as his opponent for the side pot mucked and the all in player showed

Phong "Turbo" Nguyen was crippled on the money bubble, where he was knocked down to just 5,000. He voluntarily sat out the next three hands to ensure he made the money, leaving himself with just 3,500, or just over half a big blind, when play restarted. Well Nguyen has been on a major heater since then, and has managed to work his stack all the way up to 95,000! He's still not out of the danger zone, but the meteoric rise in chips is impressive nonetheless.

of his opponent. Deeb flopped a king and it was all he needed to send one home with a min-cash.
