Pegasus Skewered

Mark "Pegasus" Smith
Mark "Pegasus" Smith

Mark "Pegasus" Smith had been clinging to a short stack all afternoon. We tried to catch him in a hand, but every time we were near his table, it was all quiet on the Western front. Well, now it appears Smith's peaceful grind has come to an end as the all-time ring winner is gone from his seat.

It can mean only one thing . . . Pegasus has been eliminated.

The Rich Get Richer

We just told you about the big stack of Blake Cahail. Well, that stack just got bigger courtesy of a three-way all-in preflop pot that saw the hijack holding {Q-}{Q-}, the small blind {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}, and Cahail the {A-Spades}{A-Hearts}.

The rest of the table was in disbelief that Cahail's stack was about to grow bigger, which it did after the board ran out {10-Hearts}{10-Spades}{9-Spades}{2-Spades}{2-Diamonds}. With that, Cahail is up to approximately 560,000!

All Hail Cahail

We were wandering by Table 40 when we saw a player stacking a big pot. By our count, he is sitting with a stack of 410,000, which appears to be the biggest in the room. His name is Blake Cahail, and he is primed for a deep run here in the Main Event.

Clements Losses Near 100k

We noticed Scott Clements stack took a massive hit and while we were counting it he offered us up the details. The player on the button opened for 6,000, Clements called from the small blind and the player in the big blind called as well.

The flop fell {Q-} {3-} {5-}, Clements checked and the button bet 7,500. Clements raised to 22,000 and got a call. The turn came {10-}, Clements shipped and his opponent called. His opponent tabled {Q-} {10-} and was ahead of Clements' {A-} {Q-}. He bricked on the river but still has an above-average stack to work with.

Bybee Gives It Up

Ross Bybee was under the gun and opened things with a raise, only to have the player to his immediate left three-bet to 10,500. Action folded back around to Bybee and he put in the four-bet to 27,000. His opponent thought for about 15 seconds before five-betting to 100,500.

Bybee only had around 105,000 behind, so it was essentially for his stack. The Texan thought long and hard, about three minutes in fact, before giving up his hand.

Bolden & Liu Square Off

From under the gun Ping Liu opened to 6,500 and action folded around to Gary Bolden in the cutoff. Bolden called and the blinds released. The flop came {8-Clubs} {6-Spades} {4-Clubs}, Liu checked an Bolden bet 17,000. Liu called and the turn produced the {6-Hearts}. Liu checked again and Bolden took just a little bit of time to move all in for 79,000.

Liu went deep into the tank. He counted out calling chips, counted what would be behind and shuffled his chips repeatedly. Bolden was a statue as Liu stared him down and finally tossed in calling chips after a lengthy tank.

"Damn," Bolden said, thinking he was beat. He tabled {K-Hearts} {K-Diamonds} and was pleasantly surprised when Liu turned up {J-Hearts} {J-Clubs}.

The river was the {6-Clubs} and Bolden's better full house earned him the pot and a spot among the chipleaders.

Carwash Sends Magnus to the Rail

Nadya Magnus
Nadya Magnus

Nadya Magnus opened for 6,500 under the gun only to have Michael "Carwash" Schneider three-bet all in for 36,000. Action folded back around to Magnus and she called off holding {Q-}{Q-} and she was racing against Schneider's {A-}{K-}.

Much to Magnus' dismay, the flop fell {3-}{3-}{A-}, giving Schneider the lead. She was unable to catch a queen on the {3-} turn and {K-} river, putting an end to her day here in Level 16.

Meanwhile, Joe Hebda has also been eliminated from the Main Event.
