Luce Spikes a Queen to Eliminate Lewis

Luther Lewis got his last 42,000 all in preflop and was at risk against the big stack of Tom Luce.

Showdown

Luce{K-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}
Lewis{A-Spades}{K-Spades}

Lewis was in a dominating spot and primed to double, but that all changed on the {4-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}{4-Hearts} flop. Luce had paired his queen to take a commanding lead, one that he held on to through the {2-Clubs} turn and {5-Hearts} river. It was an ugly beat, but the ever-gracious Lewis shook hands with each player at the table and wished them all good luck before making his exit.

A Barnburner for Barnhart

After a player had raised to 9,000 from the hijack, last year's champion, Sam Barnhart, three-bet all in for 25,500 more from the small blind. The big blind folded while the original raiser agonized over the decision. Eventually he laid the hand down and Barnhart chipped up to 47,000.

It's been an up-and-down day for Barnhart, who'll need to get something going if he hopes to repeat last year's success.

Lillie Finds a Good Spot

A short stacked player moved all in from middle position for his last 20,000. Chris Lillie was in the small blind and called.

Lillie: {K-Hearts} {J-Diamonds}
Opponent: {10-Spades} {8-Diamonds}

The board ran {Q-Diamonds} {A-Hearts} {7-Clubs} {10-Clubs} {6-Spades} and Lillie's straight eliminated the player.

Milam Likes the Turn

Kenny Milam got his stack of 60,000 all in preflop with {6-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} and was up against the {A-Spades}{3-Diamonds} of an unknown opponent. The {8-Clubs}{5-Spades}{3-Clubs} flop gave Milam an open-ended straight draw, and much to his satisfaction, the {9-Diamonds} turn completed it.

Milam clapped his hands together, content in the fact that he had just gotten lucky to survive. He is now up to approximately 130,000.

A Shellshocked Nguyen Eliminated

Huy Nguyen
Huy Nguyen

We're not sure of the action, but stumbled upon Table 17 with Huy Nguyen standing with a shellshocked expression on his face. From what we could tell, he had just lost a massive pot, well over 220,000, on a board reading {8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}. His opponent, Clint Baker, had {A-Hearts}{Q-Spades} laid out in front of him, while Nguyen simply mucked and stated that he had held {A-}{K-}.

The stacks were counted down and it was discovered Baker had Nguyen covered. The former chipped up to 310,000 while a speechless Nguyen joined his friends on the rail.

Massey On the Comeback

We missed the preflop betting action but Aaron Massey was all in preflop against an opponent on the button.

Massey: {K-Spades} {K-Diamonds}
Opponent: {Q-} {Q-}

The board ran {3-Diamonds} {9-Spades} {J-Spades} {J-Clubs} {J-Hearts} and Massey's kings held and chipped him up to over 60,000.

Colored and Coded Clay Playing Tokens

Who Is David Clark?

We're not sure how it happened, but David Clark has been eliminated from the tournament. Clark, who is the significant other of La Sengphet, has had tremendous success on the WSOP Circuit collecting two rings, though he trails his girlfriend as she has three to her name.

One thing is for sure, Clark won't be evening the score here in the Harrah's Tunica Main Event.

Bigler Busted

We're not sure how it happens, but the seat formerly occupied by Chris Bigler now houses a different player. Simple logic tells us that Bigler has been eliminated from the Harrah's Tunica Main Event.
