"You've Got a Face for Radio"

Mark Kroon
Mark Kroon

We found the always entertaining Mark Kroon in a hand with Doug Hutcheson. The board read {6-Clubs} {Q-Diamonds} {Q-Hearts} {J-Diamonds} and Hutcheson checked. Kroon bet out 6,600, Hutcheson raised to 16,000 and Kroon three-bet immediately to 31,000.

Hutcheson wasted little time moving all in for an additional 40,000. "I think you have jacks," Kroon said. "But just one jack. Will you show if I fold?"

"If you fold face up then I'll fold face up," Hutcheson replied.

"You've got a real soothing voice, do you do any work for radio?" Kroon asked.

"I've been told that before."

"Yeah, you've got a face for radio too," Kroon jabbed. He folded his cards face down and Hutcheson decided to show {A-Clubs} {Q-Spades} regardless.

Better Call, Saul

Kevin Saul
Kevin Saul

We only caught the tail end of this pot, but we can make some assumptions based on what we saw. When we joined the action Kevin Saul was in a heads-up pot with the gentleman in the nine seat. There were four cards out on the {A-Clubs} {8-Hearts} {8-Spades} {Q-Diamonds} board. Mr. Nine Seat was already all in for about 60,000 when we walked up, and his {A-Spades} {K-Clubs} was face-up in front of him. That leads us to assume that he got all in on the flop, but his hand was in bad shape. Saul was showing {6-Clubs} {8-Clubs}, one card from the knockout with trips.

River: {A-Diamonds}.

Mr. Nine Seat made a motion to stand up before the dealer halted him and began to count down his stack. It was another couple moments before he realized that he'd made the winning aces full, and Saul paid off the debt to slip back under 200,000.

Ellis Survives, Eriquezzo Hits the River

Level 14 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Ryan Eriquezzo
Ryan Eriquezzo

Duster Ellis moved his 4,400 stack all in preflop and Ryan Eriquezzo raised to 10,400 behind him. Drazen Ilich called the large re-raise to see the flop come {8-Diamonds} {Q-Hearts} {8-Spades}. Eriquezzo bet 13,300 into the healthy sidepot and Ilich called. The turn produced the {6-Spades} and Eriquezzo bet big again - this time to a tune of 34,800.

Ilich sat back in his seat, thought for a moment and then put in calling chips. The river came {A-Spades} and both players checked.

Eriquezzo: {A-Clubs} {9-Clubs}
Ellis: {A-Diamonds} {6-Hearts}
Ilich: {K-Diamonds} {K-Hearts}

Eriquezzo took the large sidepot and chopped the main pot with Ellis.

So Long, H0

Mark Kroon
Mark Kroon

A bit of bad news from the frontier. We were sitting here at our desk when we were visited by one Mark "P0ker H0" Kroon just a moment ago.

"See you guys later," was all he said with a bit of an uncharacteristic frown creeping across his face. It's unusual to see Kroon frowning for any reason, but running your stack from 100bb to 0bb in a couple levels is admittedly good reason to be grumpy.

See you at the next one, H0.

Debo Working His Way Back Up

Just a short while ago Gary DeBernardi was looking short stacked and in need of a double up. He's been doing some work this past level and just called another player's preflop all in. DeBernardi held {A-Clubs} {Q-Diamonds} and was racing against pocket tens. He caught an ace in the window and rivered a queen for good measure to push his stack near 100,000.

Kai KOd

Kai Landry
Kai Landry

We didn't see how his final hand went down, but we know Kai Landry got the last of his short stack in with {K-} {8-} against {A-Diamonds} {K-Diamonds}. The board was already cleaned up when we arrived, and Landry was pushing the last of his chips across to his neighbor.

He stopped by Will Souther's table to shake hands before heading out the door, freshly eliminated from this Main Event.
