Action Slowing Down

Level 17 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

With the dinner break on the horizon and the field being only 12 eliminations from making the money, play seems to have tightened up. Many pots across the final six tables are being taken down preflop with little contest.

Keller Catches a Club

Fresh off of sending Kathy Liebert to the rail earlier in this level, Bobby Keller raised the action to 8,500 and received one caller. The flop came {10-Clubs}{A-Clubs}{5-Clubs} and Keller plopped down a stack of orange, T5,000 chips. This bet had his opponent covered and after a tense moment, his opponent made the call for his tournament life.

Keller: {K-Clubs}{K-Spades}
Opponent: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}

"Good call," remarked Keller. Fortunately for him, however, the {4-Clubs} rolled off on the turn, giving him the higher club flush. The {4-Hearts} came on the river and just like that Keller had sent another home.

Liebert Has Left

Kathy Liebert Eliminated
Kathy Liebert Eliminated

Action folded around to the cutoff who raised to 7,500. Kathy Liebert opted to three-bet all in from the small blind. Bobby Keller, in the big blind, also decided that this was the time to move all in. Faced with two all in moves, the original raiser in the cutoff mucked his hand, and the two hands were turned over.

Liebert: {A-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}
Keller: {A-Spades}{K-Hearts}

The board ran out {6-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{K-Spades}, with Keller's ace-king leaving Liebert in the dust.

Clinkscales Loses Some

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Rex Clinkscales made a raise to 7,000 from the button. The player in the small blind called and the big blind released his hand.

The flop fell {A-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} and both players checked. The turn brought the {2-Diamonds} and once again the action checked around. The board paired on the river when the {10-Clubs} fell. The small blind checked for a third time and Clinkscales threw out a bet of 12,500. The small blind quickly called and tabled {8-Spades}{7-Spades}. Clinkscales released his hand into the muck and awarded his opponent the pot.

Clinkscales is currently sitting on about 135,000.
