Now Kirby Takes from Fielder

Matt Kirby
Matt Kirby

Jeff Fielder limped from the small blind and Matt Kirby opted to exercise his option from the big with a raise to 320,000. Fielder called and then proceeded to check-call bets of 350,000 and 675,000 on the {2-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs} flop and {6-Hearts} turn respectively.

When the {5-Clubs} peeled off on the river, Fielder checked for a third time and then called when Kirby led out for a healthy 1 million. Kirby tabled {Q-Hearts}{2-Hearts} for two pair and it was good as Fielder shook his head and mucked.

Kirby Takes from Roesel

Matt Kirby opened for 240,000 on the button and Dale Roesel called from the small blind. Jeff Fielder folded the big, which meant it was heads-up action to the {9-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} flop. Both players checked, the {7-Diamonds} turned, and Roesel bet 260,000. Kirby called and then bet 450,000 when Roesel checked the {J-Diamonds} river.

Roesel made the call, but once again he discovered the bad news that Kirby had got there on the river as his {A-Spades}{10-} made a straight. Roesel flashed {J-Spades}{9-} for two pair and then mucked his hand.

Kirby Cold Four-Bets

Dale Roesel opened to 250,000 on the button, Jeff Fielder three-bet to 585,000 from the small blind, and Matt Kirby cold four-bet to 1.32 million from the big blind. Roesel immediately folded, and Fielder asked the dealer to pull the bets in. He did, and field called.

Both players checked on the flop ({q-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}), the turn ({j-Hearts}), and the river ({6-Clubs}). Fielder turned over {7-Clubs}{7-Spades} for two pair, and Kirby mucked.

Kirby Runs Over Roesel with a Wheel

Dale Roesel limped on the button and Jeff Fielder did the same from the small blind. Matt Kirby checked his option in the big and all three players saw a flop of {J-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}. Two checks put action on Roesel, and he promptly bet 130,000.

Two calls were made, the {4-Spades} turned, and Roesel bet 185,000 after action folded to him. Fielder folded, but Kirby opted to come along for the ride. When the {5-Spades} completed the board on the river, Kirby led out for 375,000 and Roesel quickly called. Kirby tabled {A-Spades}{3-Hearts} for a rivered wheel, and a frustrated Roesel flashed {4-Clubs}{9-Clubs} before mucking his hand and saying, "You always get there."

Two Hands

Matt Kirby opened to 240,000 on the button, Dale Roesel called in the small blind, and Jeff Fielder three-bet to 540,000 from the big blind. Kirby called, and so too did Roesel.

The dealer fanned {9-Spades}{10-Hearts}{5-Spades}, and the action checked to Kirby, who fired 800,000. Both players folded.

An orbit later, Roesel raised to 250,000 out of the small blind. Fielder called, and both players checked on a flop of {j-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{9-Spades}. The turn was the {8-Hearts}, Roesel led for 125,000, and Fielder called.

The {2-Clubs} completed the board, and Roesel led again - this time for 365,000. Fielder folded, and Roesel showed {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}.

Bryan Campanello Eliminated in 4th Place ($107,730)

Bryan Campanello - 4th Place
Bryan Campanello - 4th Place

Bryan Campanello has been working with a short stack for quite awhile, but his hopes of making a comeback have come to an end courtesy of Matt Kirby.

It happened when Campanello opened for 240,000 from the button and Kirby three-bet to 560,000 from the small blind. The big got out of the way, and Campanello moved all in for approximately 2.9 million. Kirby snap-called with {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds} and had Campanello's {A-Hearts}{3-Hearts} in dire straights.

The {2-Spades}{K-Spades}{Q-Spades} flop was terrible for Campanello as it paired Kirby's king, which meant he needed either running straight or flush cards to stay alive. The dealer burned and turned the {8-Diamonds}, and just like that Campanello's hopes of winning the WSOP Circuit Choctaw Durant Main Event went out the door.

The {J-Hearts} was put out on the river as Campanello shook hands with the remaining three players. He will take home $107,730 for his efforts.

Roesel's Turn to Double

Dale Roesel doubles
Dale Roesel doubles

Dale Roesel opened to 250,000 from first position, Jeff Fielder three-bet to 650,000 on his direct left, and the action folded back to Roesel, who moved all in for 2.21 million. Fielder tank-called.

Roesel: {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}
Fielder: {k-Spades}{j-Spades}

The flop fell {j-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{9-Clubs}, giving both players a pair and the same straight draw. The turn was the {a-Hearts}, changing nothing, and the {3-Spades} bricked on the river.

Roesel doubled to over 4.7 million chips, while Fielder fell to 7.94 million.

Kirby Fighting Back

Dale Roesel opened for 255,000 under the gun and all three of his opponents called. Two checks on the {K-Spades}{A-Clubs}{K-Clubs} flop put action on Roesel, and he continued for 650,000. Jeff Fielder and Bryan Campanello both folded, but Matt Kirby opted to check-raise all in. It was enough to get the job done as Roesel conceded the hand. With that, Kirby chipped up to 5.2 million.

In the very next hand, Fielder opened for 250,000 under the gun and Kirby and Roesel called from the small and big blind respectively. With two checks in front of him on the {10-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{A-Diamonds} flop, Fielder continued for 360,000. Kirby then check-raised to 1 million, Roesel folded, and Fielder made the call, bringing about the {4-Clubs} turn. Kirby moved all in for roughly 4.5 million and Fielder gave it up.

Fielder Grabs a Small One

After squeezing all in twice, Matt Kirby opened to 240,000 from under the gun. Jeff Fielder called out of the small blind, and the dealer fanned {2-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}. Fielder check-called a 255,000-chip bet from Kirby, and both players checked on the turn ({6-Spades}) and the river ({2-Spades}).

Fielder rolled over {5-Hearts}{4-Hearts} for a pair of fives, and won the pot.
