Daniels Dealt a Blow

Jared Ludemann and Shawn Daniels just faced off in a battle of young pros, and Ludemann came out on top. We came to the board, and saw that the board read {6-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}. Ludemann checked to Daniels, who fired out 3,500. Ludemann responded by check raising all in, and it was back to Daniels. This bet represented all of Daniels' 20,000 stack, and after a minute or so of tanking, he folded his hand.

After that hand, Daniels sits on 20,000, while Ludemann, who finished 2nd in the $1,000 event earlier this afternoon, is up to 61,000.

Final Five Tables

Level 12 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

The floor staff has just broken the 6th table in play, meaning we are already down to our final 45 players today. Considering the number we are projecting to end at is 21, there's a good chance that we will reach that number before 17 levels are complete.

New Chip Leader

And the lucky player who is our chip leader is...David Randall. Randall knows a thing or two about being the chip leader. This morning, he came back for Day 2 of the $1,000 event with the chip lead, but fell short of the title, getting 3rd. However, he's on a good track to make another final table in this event!

Patterson Picks Off a Short Stack

Action folded around to a short stack in the cutoff, and he moved all in for 7,700. Tyler Patterson was in the small blind, and he moved in over the top for 16,000 total. Paul Hendee tanked in the big blind, before giving his hand up, exposing {a-}{j-}

Patterson: {k-Spades}{q-Clubs}
Opponent: {q-Diamonds}{8-Spades}

Hendee wished he stuck around after the dealer fanned out a {a-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} flop. Patterson stayed out in front on the turn, the {j-Hearts}, and the river, the {6-Hearts}. After that hand, Patter has worked his stack back up to 24,000.

Madsen Loses Some Chips

Jeff Madsen made it 1,600 to go in the cutoff, and the button raised it up to 3,800. It folded back to Madsen, and he grabbed a pink T5,000 chip, put together a raise to 8,600, and slid it into the middle. His opponent called, and the flop came down {a-Clubs}{4-Spades}{k-Clubs}.

Madsen was not scared by the big cards, as he put out a bet of 11,500. His opponent thought for about 30 seconds before throwing in a min raise, but it wasn't quite enough. He had only thrown out 21,000, so it took some time to figure out exactly how much he could raise to. Eventually, Madsen picked up his cards, and frustratingly tossed them to the muck.

It was a good fold, as his opponent eventually tabled {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} for middle set. Madsen is still amongst our chip leaders after the hand, sitting on 64,000.

Stewart Pushing 100K Mark

Casey Stewart raised it up to 1,600, and the player to his left raised it up to 4,100 in the cutoff. It got back to Stewart, and he assembled a four bet of 7,600, and put it in the middle. His opponent stacked the rest of her 25,000 chips, and slid them into the middle. Stewart made the call, and they were off to the races.

Stewart: {a-Hearts}{q-Clubs}
Opponent: {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}

Most of the suspense was over when the dealer brought out a flop of {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}. Stewart would just need to dodge a ten or running straight cards, and when the board completed {2-Diamonds} and {3-Clubs}, Stewart stacked his new chips.

After that hand, Stewart is up to 95,000.

Plan For Today

Level 10 : 400/800, 100 ante

As of right now, the plan is to play 17 levels, or until 12% of the field is left. Given that the final number looks to be around 140, that means only around 17 players will make it to Day 2. It will be very interesting to see how this number stacks up with the number of players alive after tomorrow's heat.
