Hall Climbing

We came upon Braden J. Hall who was pondering calling the all in of a short stacked player. Hall called and showed {10-}{9-} against his opponent's {Q-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}. Hall paired his nine on the flop and his opponent failed to improve his hand, ensuring his elimination and more chips to go the way of Hall.

Hall is currently sporting a stack of 170,000 and is one of the biggest stacks in the room.

MacPhee Flops Two Pair

We caught up to find Kevin MacPhee and an opponent looking down at a board of {Q-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{9-Spades}{2-Spades}. MacPhee's opponent checked and MacPhee shot out 5,700. His opponent called and the {A-Diamonds} rivered. Both players checked and MacPhee's opponent showed {10-Diamonds}{9-Spades} for a pair of tens.

MacPhee showed {Q-Spades}{10-Hearts} for a flopped two pair and took down the pot.

Hwang Massive Chip Lead

We're unsure how it happened, but Sean Hwang, the man who knocked out Jason Koon earlier in the tournament, has jumped back into a massive chip lead with about 195,000.

Vaillancourt Doubles

After two players limped, it folded around to Noah Vaillancourt in the big blind who moved all in for his last 16,700. The first player pondered for about thirty seconds before dropping in enough chips to call. The next limper got out of the way and the hands were turned over:

Vaillancourt: {A-Clubs}{10-Hearts}
Opponent: {K-Hearts}{j-Hearts}

Vaillancourt was out in front and managed to improve his lead on the {A-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} flop. It wouldn't be poker without a sweat, though, and the {9-Hearts} fell on fourth street to give his opponent outs to make a heart flush.

The {4-Clubs} hit the river, however, and Vaillancourt was able to double up to about 36,000.

Lee Scores Massive Double Through Tria

We caught up after shouts echoed throughout the River Rock Theatre to find that Tyler Lee was able to score a huge double up through one time big stack Roberto Tria.

The flop read {A-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} and Lee was all in and at risk holding {A-Spades}{K-Spades} for top two pair. Unfortunately for Lee he was against the {8-}{8-} of Tria and in need of some help to stay alive.

The turn was the harmless {5-Clubs} but the {K-Clubs} on the river shook everything up and caused players around the table to let out shouts and cries. Lee's rivered full house was able to net him a double up to the top chip position in the room.

Jarvis Slips

Matt Jarvis opened to 1,700 from early position and was called by the player in the big blind.

The flop brought {J-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{5-Clubs} and action was checked to Jarvis who continued out for 2,100. His opponent called and they both checked when the board paired with the {J-Clubs} on fourth street. The {8-Clubs} completed the board and Jarvis' opponent shot out 3,700. Jarvis quickly called but mucked when he was shown {A-Clubs}{9-Spades} for jacks and nines with an ace. With his hit Jarvis' stack is now sitting at 55,000.
