Weinman Busts Bishop

Level 23 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

In a three-bet pot, Daniel Bishop got all of his chips in the middle on a flop of {7-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{j-Hearts} holding {a-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}. Unfortunately for him, Daniel Weinman had him in rough shape with {q-Clubs}{q-Hearts}.

The queens held as the turn and river bricked {9-Clubs}, {2-Diamonds} respectively, and Bishop was eliminated.

The Start-of-the-Day Chip Leader Falls

Level 23 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Rahul Deevara on Day 1b.
Rahul Deevara on Day 1b.

More than nine hours ago no one held more chips than Rahul Deevara, who finished as the Day 1b chip leader with 466,000. He no doubt had high hopes of taking down the title, but those hopes just came to an end in 27th place.

We caught the action with roughly 120,000 in the pot and a board reading {9-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}. Corrie Wunstel had checked and Deevara bet 55,000. Wunstel then woke up with a check-raise to 126,000 and Deevara thought long and hard before moving all in for 370,000 total. Wunstel snap-called with the {A-Clubs}{9-Clubs} and Deevara was drawing with the {Q-Diamonds}{10-Spades}.

Deevara finished in 27th place and earned $6,961 for his efforts.

[Removed:376] Busts, Final 27 Redrawing

Level 23 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Benjamin Reason open-shoved for around 200,000 on the button, Claudia Crawford folded in the small blind, and Daniel [Removed:376] called all in for 137,000 from the big blind.

Reason: {k-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}
[Removed:376]: {a-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}

[Removed:376] remained ahead after the {q-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{9-Spades} flop, but Reason took the lead when the {8-Diamonds} turned. The {10-Spades} completed the board, and [Removed:376] was eliminated in 28th place.

The remaining 27 players are now redrawing for seats at the final three tables.

Mintz on Fire

Level 23 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

It's been the Ben Mintz show here in the early minutes of Level 23 as he has nearly climbed to 2 million in chips.

Most recently Mintz raised to 28,000 from the hijack and then snap-called when Joseph Alesna moved all in for roughly 300,000 from the small blind.

Mintz: {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}
Alesna: {4-Hearts}{4-Clubs}

It was a flip, but the way Mintz had been running it seemed a forgone conclusion the flop would help him. Sure enough, the {5-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{6-Hearts} flop did just that. Mintz refused to look at the board until the {5-Clubs} turn and {K-Hearts} river completed it, and then he happily raked in yet another hefty pot.

Lockwood Runs Into Kings

Level 23 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

After Rogen Chhabra had opened with a raise, Peter Lockwood moved all in from the small blind. After the big folded, Chhabra called and the cards were turned up.

Chhabra: {K-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}
Lockwood: {A-Clubs}{5-Clubs}

It was a tough spot for Lockwood as he only held one over, but he did get a little help as the {q-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} flop gave him a flush draw. Unfortunately for him neither the {8-Hearts} turn nor {K-Hearts} river would complete it and he was eliminated in 30th place.

Mintz Takes Over Chip Lead in Gigantic Pot

Level 23 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Ben Mintz
Ben Mintz

A massive pot just took place that has resulted in Ben Mintz pulling out to a decent chip lead.

It began when action folded to him on the button and he opened for 26,000. Luke Graham, who was in the small blind, then three-bet to 100,000, Mintz called and the flop came down 6h7c10h]. Graham proceeded to check-call a bet of 88,000 and then checked the {A-Hearts} turn. Mintz kept the pressure on with a big bet of 170,000, Graham wasted little time in called and the {4-Diamonds} completed the board on the river.

Graham checked for a third time and Mintz announced that he was betting 225,000. Graham thought for about ten seconds before making the call, but he mucked just as soon as Mintz tabled the {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds} for a flopped set. With that, Mintz is up to a robust 1.5 million while Graham dropped to 200,000.
