Eyster Takes Chip Lead

Level 30 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

Kevin Eyster has just taken down the first pot of significance in this heads up battle, and as a result, he has taken the lead.

Eyster opened the action to 100,000, and Jonathan Taylor raised to 230,000. Eyster called, and the flop came {j-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{2-Spades}. Both players checked, and the turn brought the {j-Spades}. Taylor fired out 180,000, and Eyster made the call.

The river was the {3-Spades}, and Taylor fired again, this time for 285,000. Eyster spent about 30 seconds in the tank before emerging with the call, and Taylor tabled {8-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} for eight high. Eyster rolled over {4-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} for two pair, and with that pot, he is now up to 4.72 million.

Allan Hedin Eliminated in 3rd Place ($62,733)

Level 30 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante
Allan Hedin- 3rd Place
Allan Hedin- 3rd Place

Allan Hedin came back from dinner with just 12 big blinds, and he had already shoved once without getting called. However, the second time he shoved all in for 555,000, Jonathan Taylor called him from the big blind as soon as he looked at his hand. When the cards were tabled, we could see why.

Hedin: {k-Clubs}{10-Hearts}
Taylor: {a-Hearts}{a-Spades}

Hedin was in a world of hurt, but the flop was as good as he could have asked for, coming {3-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{j-Clubs}. Hedin could now catch a club for the win, and the turn was black, but it was the {2-Spades}. Hedin needed a club and a club only, but the river was the {j-Diamonds}.

Hedin will have to settle for 3rd place, and the $62,733 that goes with it. Meanwhile, Kevin Eyster and Jonathan Taylor are now heads up, with virtually even stacks.
