The second day of the 2015 World Series of Poker International Circuit Main Event at Casino de Marrakech restarted with 172 players remaining. After three 45-minute levels and eight 60-minute levels, the field was reduced to the final 20 contenders. Manuel Makiadi finished leading the field with 1,700,000 in chips.

With the top 53 spots paid at least €2,353, more than 100 participants left empty handed. Paul Francois Tedeschi had his aces cracked by ace-king early on, and Guillaume Darcourt was out of the door not much later despite doubling up in the very first hand. El Mostafa Ederoua, Dimitri Halliez, Brian Benhamou, Rakesh Lalwani, Rebecca Gerin, Anthony Rodrigues, Guillaume Diaz, Ben Warrington, Kuljinder Sidhu, and Omar Lakhdari were all equally fortunate.

At the end of Level 19, the bubble was reached but didn't burst until everyone returned from the dinner break. It was Kamal Sefrioui who finished in 54th place after running into the pocket queens of Abdel Omais. Once in the money, World Poker Tour Nottingham Matas Cimbolas and Jay Santos clashed in a million-chip pot with the better end for the Lithuanian. Santos recovered, but ultimately had to settle for 25th place.

The aforementioned Omais was eliminated by Miroslav Alilovic and the WPT National Brussels finalist shot to the top of the leaderboard. Other notables who cashed but didn't advance to Day 3 included Manuel Sadornil (52nd), 2011 WPT Marrakech runner-up Toufik Ourini (45th), Olivier Averso (31st), Pierre Merlin (29th) and Day 1a chip leader Frederic Rizzo in 27th place.

Several players were hovering above one million in chips and Makiadi claimed 1,700,000 to take the lead for the final on Sunday. He was followed by Ricardo Manquant (1,497,000) and Mohamed Sekkat (1,420,000). Alilovic (1,380,000) as well as Cimbolas (1,135,000) have decent stacks as well, whereas Martial Blangenwitsch (400,000) finished among the several short stacks.

Play will resume at 2 p.m. local time with blinds at 10,000/20,000 and a running ante of 3,000. All remaining participants are guaranteed at least €5,458 for their efforts and the winner will receive approximately €122,330, the WSOP Circuit gold ring as well as an invitation to the exclusive WSOP Circuit Championship.

The PokerNews team will follow along the action Sunday until a champion is crowned. Good night and see you tomorrow!

Steve Lixon
Steve Lixon

Steve Lixon doubled up in the penultimate hand of Day 2 after winning a coin flip with {K-Spades} {Q-Clubs} against the pocket deuces of Manual Makiadi, making a full house and reaching 110,000 in chips again.

Shortly after, he was at risk with {A-} {10-} out of the small blind and Ricardo Manquant looked him up with {A-} {6-} to find a six on the flop.

Malek Grabsi
Malek Grabsi

On the bubble, Malek Grabsi had only two big blinds left but lasted a lot longer than most of his opponents before bowing out in 22nd place. He shoved the short stack with {A-Spades} {J-Spades} and was called by Manuel Makiadi with {A-Diamonds} {A-Hearts} and Grabsi was drawing dead after the turn of a {4-Hearts} {5-Clubs} {9-Clubs} {9-Diamonds} {8-Spades} board.

Ondrej Milabersky started the day with less than starting stack and is now above one million. Milabersky opened and Jon Garde three-bet small with his short stack of around 200,000 to call the all in of his opponent. Garde's {4-Clubs} {4-Hearts} were dominated by the {6-Hearts} {6-Clubs} of his opponent and the board ran out {J-Hearts} {A-Clubs} {10-Hearts} {K-Clubs} {J-Hearts}.

Marcel Vadella Eliminated in 24th Place (€4,611)

Level 23 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Marcel Vadella
Marcel Vadella

Ricardo Manquant opened to 35,000 and was called by Matas Cimbolas as well as Marcel Vadella and the player in the big blind. On a flop of {7-Hearts} {J-Spades} {4-Spades}, the action was checked to Cimboloas who bet 85,000. Vadella shoved for 195,000 and everyone but the Lithuanian got out of the way.

Cimbolas: {Q-Clubs} {Q-Hearts}
Vadella: {5-Diamonds} {6-Diamonds}

Neither the {A-Hearts} turn nor the {4-Clubs} river changed anything and Vadella was sent to the rail in 24th place, good enough for a payday of €4,611.

It was a coin flip between Antoine Rahal and Jay Santos that sent the Portuguese to the rail in 25th place. Santos was unable to improve with {A-} {K-} against pocket jacks and ended a roller coaster day with a consolation prize of €3,952.

Mehdi Senhaji Eliminated in 26th Place (€3,592)

Level 22 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Mehdi Senhaji
Mehdi Senhaji

It was a drama in three acts that saw Mehdi Senhaji run out of chips. First he paid off the {A-Hearts} {A-Spades} of Jay Santos on a board of {2-Spades} {5-Spades} {9-Clubs} {Q-Clubs} {K-Diamonds} and fell below 200,000 in chips. Then, Fahd Kaabat moved all in for 184,000 chips and Santos called on the button, but was thinking he was the small blind.

The Portuguese thought he heard Senhaji say "pass" and exposed his {A-Clubs} {4-Clubs} but then Senhaji said call with almost the same stack as Kaabat. The floor was called and ultimately it was ruled as a call by Santos, as Senhaji only had 6,000 more and the player in the big blind mucked his cards.

Kaabat: {J-Hearts} {J-Spades}
Senhaji: {A-Diamonds} {10-Clubs}

The board ran out {6-Clubs} {5-Clubs} {5-Hearts} {3-Hearts} {6-Spades} and Kaabat tripled up. Senhaji's last few chips then vanished with {Q-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds} versus {A-Spades} {Q-Clubs} after a board of {9-Diamonds} {9-Clubs} {8-Diamonds} {3-Spades} {3-Hearts}.

Frederic Rizzo
Frederic Rizzo

Ondrej Milabersky raised from the cutoff and then snap-called the shove of Frederic Rizzo out of the big blind for 300,000 in chips with {A-Clubs} {A-Spades}. Rizzo only had pocket sevens and the {5-Clubs} {3-Clubs} {K-Hearts} {10-Spades} {8-Hearts} board provided no help.

Alilovic Sends Omais to the Rail

Level 21 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Abdel Omais
Abdel Omais

Miroslav Alilovic called a raise by Abdel Omais to 30,000 out of middle position and the two of them saw a flop of {J-Clubs} {6-Diamonds} {K-Hearts}. A continuation bet of 30,000 chips is called and the {A-Spades} turn then set fireworks.

Omais check-raised to 117,000 and then called the shove of Alilovic with {A-} {J-} only to see his opponent turn over {A-} {K-}. The {3-Clubs} river was a typical blank and Alilovic jumped into the chip lead.

Cimbolas and Santos Clash in Million Chip Pot

Level 21 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Matas Cimbolas
Matas Cimbolas

Matas Cimbolas raised to 22,000 and received a three-bet from Jay Santos one seat over for 51,000. Cimbolas called and they saw the heads-up flop of {A-Spades} {10-Spades} {7-Diamonds}. Cimbolas check-raised fro 42,000 to 122,000 and was called by the Portuguese before the {4-Hearts} fell on the turn.

The Lithuanian moved all in for 374,000 and Santos eventually called off after some consideration. As soon as he had done so, Cimbolas flipped over his {10-Hearts} {10-Diamonds} and Santos already pushed over stacks to his opponent as he was drawing dead with {A-Clubs} {K-Hearts}. The meaningless {J-Hearts} river saw Cimbolas move up to more than a million whereas Santos is now short.
