Cieslik and Cohen Thriving

Level 3 : 75/150, 0 ante
Yehuda Cohen
Yehuda Cohen

The cards were all but rushed away and Hael Al-Labani's {A-Spades}{K-Clubs} for top pair and top kicker were scooped into the muck while Roman Cieslik was awarded the pot with {Q-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}. The flop came king-queen high and Cieslik scored the knockout with a set.

In the last hand of the level, Paul Michaelis checked a flop of {7-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{5-Hearts} and Aleksandar Tomovic bet 800, which Yehuda Cohen and Michaelis called. After the {A-Clubs} turn, Michaelis led for 2,650 and Tomovic folded, Cohen raised to 6,000 and the German called. The {2-Spades} fell on the river and Michaelis quickly check-folded to a bet worth 9,000.

"I flopped the nuts," Cohen joked but didn't show his cards.

Ziermann Busts Commerscheidt

Level 3 : 75/150, 0 ante
Rainer Ziermann
Rainer Ziermann

Peter Siemund, Gerhard Brimmers and Ralf Ziermann all boosted their stacks and the latter has more than doubled up since the start.

With some 9,500 in the middle and the turn reading {10-Clubs}{9-Spades}{4-Spades}{6-Spades}, Ziermann faced the shove of Rolf Commerscheidt for 25,700 and a third player in the hand folded. "Okay, I still have some outs," Ziermann said and called. Commerscheidt showed {K-Clubs}{J-Diamonds} for a gutshot only and Ziermann was guaranteed the pot with {7-Spades}{5-Spades}, a blank {10-Diamonds} river was a mere formality.

Van Wesemael Bests Fara

Level 3 : 75/150, 0 ante
Sander van Wesemael
Sander van Wesemael

Tomas Fara raised from under the gun and picked up a single caller in Sander van Wesemael in middle position. A continuation bet by Fara on the {10-Hearts}{6-Spades}{2-Hearts} flop was called and Fara's second bet of 1,625 also saw van Wesemael call. The {10-Diamonds} appeared on the river and Fara slowed down, checked. It didn't take long for van Wesemael to bet 4,300 and that was enough to avoid a showdown, as Fara folded.

Halleux still has plenty of time to re-enter with late registration remaining open for the entire day. Micu stacked up a healthy pile of chips to climb over 60,000 before the first break of the day.

Greko Wins Some

Level 3 : 75/150, 0 ante

With some 10,000 in the middle already, the board showed {10-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} and Florian Bach in the big blind checked. Gregor Greko bet 4,000 and his opponent eventually called to see Greko turn over the {10-Spades}{8-Spades} for trips tens. Bach sighed and mucked the {10-Clubs} to drop below half the starting stack.

Marcel Baskharon Has the Nuts!

Level 2 : 50/100, 0 ante

There was a raise to 300 from under the gun and Oliver Kalabus three-bet to 850 directly to his left. Marcel Baskharon called from the button as did the initial raiser. The flop came {10-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{2-Hearts} and Kalabus was the first to toss in 1,750. Baskharon called and the player under the gun check-raised to 4,200. Both Kalabus and Baskharon called to see the {9-Hearts} on the turn.

The action was checked to Kalabus who threw in his remaining 2,550 chips. Baskharon continued to call as did his other opponent. The {4-Spades} hit the river and Kalabus got up from his seat and walked away from the table, giving up on his hand. With the action checked to Baskharon, he fired out a bet of 9,000 and his opponent eventually laid his hand down.

Baskharon tabled {a-Hearts}{7-Hearts} and Kalabus' hand was revealed, showing that he had {7-Spades}{6-Diamonds}. Baskharon's nut flush earned a big pot early on in Day 1B.
