Alexandre Reard's Strong Start

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

French High Roller Alexandre Reard has blasted out of the gates and is already up to 110,000. Reard is sharp today, as he just proved in a hand against Santiago.

Santiago bet 8,500 on a {8-Spades}{7-Spades}{2-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{8-Clubs} and Reard quickly called it off, holding nothing more than {A-Spades}{10-Hearts} for ace-high. It was good, as Santiago had {K-Spades}{J-Spades} for the busted kigh-high flush draw.

Da Silva Andrade Back At Starting Stack

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

Hometown player Nuno Da Silva Andrade was off to a rocky start, but just doubled back to the starting stack. With {A-}{A-}, Da Silva got fully paid off on a {5-}{J-}{Q-}{2-}{A-} board. His opponent couldn't muster up more than {K-}{J-} and had to ship 15,000 to the Moroccan.

No Second Ring for Carlos Lopes

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante
Carlos Lopes - Winner of Event 3
Carlos Lopes - Winner of Event 3

Carlos Lopes's week here in Marrakech is already a success, as the Frenchman won a WSOP Circuit Ring in the 3,000 MAD (€275) Turbo Deepstack for 100,000 MAD (€9,328) a few days ago. He won't be adding a second Ring yet, as Lopes just busted from the tournament.

On a board of {A-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{8-Clubs}, Abdalli Ali bet 3,950 and Lopes raised to 9,500. Ali took his time before coming along with the call. The river was the {5-Diamonds} and Lopes moved all in, only to be met by a snap-call from Ali.

Lopes showed {10-Clubs}{6-Clubs} for a flush, but Ali held {A-Clubs}{3-Clubs} for the nut flush to cripple Lopes to two big blinds. The Frenchman lost those two hands later and was eliminated.

First Player Eliminated

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

The first player has been forced to the rail on Day 1b, who found his demise at the hands of Ahmed Meziane. With the board reading {3-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}, it was Meziane who checked. His opponent bet 3,625, Meziane check-raised to 9,500, the opponent shoved all in for 25,000 and Meziane snap-called it off.

Meziane's opponent couldn't muster up more than {A-Spades}{9-Spades} for just ace-high, leaving him drawing dead against Meziane's nut straight with {6-Hearts}{5-Spades}. Meziane ran over to the next table to celebrate with a friend, while the rest of the table watched in bewilderment as the player made his way to the exit.
