Zakaria With The Nut Low

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

On the turn and a board reading {7-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{7-Clubs}, David bet 40,000 and Zakaria called in position. The river was the {9-Spades} and David checked, with 60,000 behind. Zakaria bet around 50,000, but David had no showdown value and folded immediately.

Little did David know he was up against the one hand he could most certainly beat, as Zakaria showed {4-Clubs}{3-Clubs} for the nut low. With that pot, Zakaria has crossed the half million in chips mark.

Montury Doubles Big Through Haziza

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante
Jean Montury

A hefty pot had already brewed between Jean Montury (UTG) and David Haziza (BB), when action was on the latter. On a {6-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} board, Haziza shoved all in and Montury snap-called his remaining 107,500 off with {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}.

A furious Haziza flung his counterfeited {7-}{6-} open in the muck and had to surrender two-thirds of his remaining stack to the French EPT winner. With the massive double, Montury is now among the chipleaders.

Recent Eliminations

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

One of the recent eliminations was Kamel Tir, who shoved {A-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} into {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}. The board ran out {K-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}, which prompted some early celebrations from Tir after the turn. After the river completed the board, it took Tir almost ten seconds before the bad news dawned on him.

On a flop of {9-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{2-Clubs}, Selim Oulmekki checked. Fernandez bet 9,200, Hafid Kinany raised to 24,000, but Oulmekki had a different plan. He three-bet to 50,000 from the blinds and got Fernandez directly out of the way.

Kinany mulled over it for the better part of a minute, then succumbed to the big stack's pressure as well.

Chip Counts

Level 14 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Montury's Monster Nails Ouirini, Pains Deyra

Ivan Deyra raised to 5,200 on the button and Toufik Ouirini called from the small blind. Jean Montury three-bet to 14,400 from the big blind and Deyra called after nearly two minutes of thought. Ourini didn't need that much time, as he snap-called the raise as well.

The flop was {10-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{6-Clubs} and Ouirini instantly put his last 15,100 in the pot. Montury quickly called the all-in, as dit Deyra. Both players checked the {9-Hearts} on the turn.

On the {9-Spades} river, Montury double-checked Deyra's remaining stack before shoving all in. Deyra had 51,000 behind and agonized over his decision. The clock got called after several minutes, and with just one second remaining Deyra folded his hand.

"Good fold," Montury assured his fellow countryman before showing {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} for quad nines. With a sad look on his face, Ouirini flashed {8-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} and headed for the rail.
