Said El Yousfi to the Rail

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Said El Yousfi
Said El Yousfi

2016 WSOP Global Championship winner Said El Yousfi will not be adding another big cash yet. On a {9-Spades}{8-Clubs}{3-Clubs} flop, El Yousfi had bet 40,000 and was facing a 150,000 shove from Roland Rozel.

El Yousfi, who played nearly the same stack as Rozel, agonised for several minutes before flicking in a calling chip.

Roland Rozel: {K-Clubs}{7-Clubs}
Said El Yousfi: {J-Clubs}{J-Hearts}

Rozel needed to hit his overcard or one of the clubs to survive and did so on the {9-Clubs} turn. El Yousfi had a redraw to a full house, but the {3-Hearts} river wasn't the four-outer he needed. El Yousfi was left with 1,5bb, which he lost in the next hand.

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Abdelhadi Kondah
Abdelhadi Kondah

Abdelhadi Kondah, 3rd on the Morocco All Time Money List with over $600,000 in winnings, shoved 46,000 all in from early position. Rodrigo Strong called from middle position and short stacked Eric Rabut called 21,000 all in from the small blind.

Abdelhadi Kondah: {6-Diamonds}{6-Spades}
Rodrigo Strong: {A-Clubs}{9-Hearts}
Eric Rabut: {Q-Hearts}{J-Clubs}

Kondah was never in any danger on {K-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{2-Spades}{6-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} and nearly tripled up. Strong took a hit and Rabut was eliminated.

Home Empty-Handed

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

All these players got recently eliminated and had to go home empty-handed. We are now 18 places away from the money.

Pirault Succumbs To Lamzariki

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Hassan Lamzariki opened with a raise to 10,500. Behind him, Francois Pirault shoved his last 70,000 in the middle. When it got back to Hassan, he immediately called to put Pirault at risk.

Francois Pirault: {J-Clubs}{J-Spades}
Hassan Lamzariki: {Q-Hearts}{Q-Spades}

The {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{5-Clubs} gave Pirault an opening with his jack of clubs, but the {A-Hearts} on the turn slammed that door shut. The meaningless {9-Diamonds} completed the board and ended Pirault's tournament.

Sorokin Spills Russian Blood

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

In a Russian battle between Viktor Sorokin and Dimitri Motorov, it was the former sending the latter home after winning a big coinflip. Preflop, Sorokin had 36,000 in front of him and Sorokin had moved all in for 120,000. After thinking for two minutes, Sorokin called it off with nearly the same stack.

Viktor Sorokin: {6-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}
Dimitri Motorov: {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades}

It was a big call with pocket sixes, but Sorokin's hand remained ahead from start to finish: {10-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{2-Spades}. Sorokin celebrated the knockout with a loud bang on the table, but quickly regained control of his emotions to console his countryman.
