Moolhuizen Up And Down

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

Hand #1:
Claude Mamalepot limped in from early position and so did Mateus Moolhuizen from the cutoff. The player on the button did the same. The small blind completed and the big blind checked. The flop came {8-}{7-}{3-} with two hearts. Everyone checked to Moolhuizen who bet 1,000. The button folded, the small blind shoved for 8,200. Everyone folded except Moolhuizen who called. The small blind showed {4-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} and Moolhuizen tabled {8-}{6-}. The river completed the board with a {4-} to give his opponent two pair, fours and threes and the double up. Moolhuizen was left with about 16,000.

Hand #2:
Moolhuizen bet from the under-the-gun position and action folded to the players in the blinds who both called. The flop showed up with the {10-}{7-}{3-} with two diamonds. The players in the blinds checked, Moolhuizen bet 1,100. The small blind folded and the big blind called. The turn was a {3-}, Moolhuizen's opponent check-called his 4,000 bet. The river completed the board with a {6-}, the big blind checked. Moolhuizen jammed for about 10,000. His opponent tank-called with {Q-}{10-} for top pair (tens) with a queen-kicker but Moolhuizen had {9-}{8-} for the rivered ten-high straight to take him back to starting stack.

[Removed:250] Takes Out Bensimhon

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

On a {4-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{k-Spades} board the pot already contained about 18,000. Ben Bensimhon had checked from the big blind and Laurent [Removed:250] bet 10,000 from middle position. After some careful consideration, Bensimhon called.

The {3-Clubs} on the river completed the board and Bensimhon shoved all in for around 18,000. [Removed:250] snap-called. Bensimhon showed {10-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} for two pair, tens and threes, but [Removed:250] had the better hand with {4-Spades}{4-Clubs} for trip fours and an elimination to his name. Bensimhon might be back later or tomorrow as reentry is still possible.

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante

Ben Bensimhon

"Watch this! The next hand is going to be a big one!" Ben Bensimhon announced to the PokerNews team when a dealer change was taking place at his table.

After the new dealer dealt his first hand to the table, action folded to Bensimhon in the cutoff who raised to 700. Ahmed Boukaddeda, sitting on the button, also called. Laurent [Removed:250], in the big blind, raised to 3,000.

"Look! You have made him mad now..." Boukaddeda said jokingly to Bensimhon.

Bensimhon smiled and then cut out some chips to make the call. Boukaddeda also called after a slight hesitation.

The flop came {8-Spades}{K-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}, [Removed:250] bet 5,500 in an instant. Bensimhon checked the board again, grabbed calling chips but then decided to fold. Boukaddeda also folded quickly.

Mamalepot Takes the Pot

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante

Mateusz Moolhuizen just finished in 50th place in the High Roller and then decided to take his seat in the Main Event today instead of waiting for Day 1b tomorrow. In his first hand at the table, he decided to get involved immediately. Moolhuizen raised to 700 from the hijack and was called by Claude Mamalepot in the big blind.

The flop came {2-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{3-Hearts}, Mamalepot check-called the 500 bet of Moolhuizen.

The turn brought them the {5-Clubs} on which they both checked. The river came with the {4-Diamonds}, Mamalepot check-called again but now on a 1,000 bet of Moolhuizen. Moolhuizen showed {K-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} for king-high but Mamalepot had him beat with {A-Hearts}{Q-Clubs} for ace-high and the pot.

Neurauter Nabs One

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

The player in the under-the-gun position raised to 500 and Hannes Neurauter and the player in the big blind called.

The flop came {8-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{10-Clubs}, the big blind checked, the under-the-gun player bet 800 and both Neurauter and the big blind called.

They all checked through the {4-Spades} on the turn to the {K-Diamonds} on the river. The big blind checked, the under-the-gun player bet 2,600. Neurauter took some time to consider all his options and then decided to raise to 8,000. The big blind snap-folded but the under-the-gun player needed more time to take a decision. He looked at the board and Neurauter a few times and then threw a chip in to call. Neurauter showed {A-Spades}{J-Diamonds} for the turned ace-high straight and that was more than enough for his opponent to muck his cards and add more chips to complete the call.

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

Fabian Gumz is one of the players that registered just before the break and he told the team about two hands he played during the first five hands at his table.

Hand #1:
Gumz raised to 525 from the cutoff and he was called by the players in the blinds. The flop came {10-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{5-}, both of his opponents checked. Gumz continued with a bet of 1,200 and they both called. The turn brought them the {3-}. The players in the blinds checked again. Gumz bet again but now for 3,600. The small blind folded and the big blind called. The river completed the board with a {10-}. The big blind bet 5,000. Gumz tanked for a bit and then called. His opponent showed {a-Hearts}{6-} for ace-high. Gumz tabled {J-}{J-} for the win.

Hand #2:
The player on the button opened to 525, Gumz defended his big blind and called. The flop brought them the {7-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{9-Diamonds}, Gumz check-called the 400 bet of his opponent. The turn was the {8-Diamonds}, now Gumz check-raised to 4,200 on the 1,500 bet of the player on the button. The {6-Clubs} came on the river, Gumz bet 11,000 and his opponent snap-jammed. Gumz folded immediately and the other players showed {j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for a straight flush.
