Cioffi Flops Four Dimes, Sends One Out the Door

Level 8 : 300/600, 600 ante

Paul Cioffi opened to 1,000 and a player moved all in for a total of 7,200. Action folded back to Cioffi, he quickly called and the two turned over their cards.

Opponent: {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}
Paul Cioffi: {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}

The dealer spread out a dream flop for Cioffi as he peeled {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{5-Spades} and Cioffi now had tens. A {q-Clubs} landed on the turn, giving his opponent a full house and a shot at catching a higher four of a kind. The {5-Hearts} river card hit the felt and Cioffi's dimes stood strong, eliminating his opponent.

Palma Calls as Clock Expires and Gets Rivered

Level 8 : 300/600, 600 ante

Nicholas Palma was in the midst of a big decision on the turn as the board read {7-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{5-Hearts}. Palma had bet 4,500 and was raised all in by Andrew Dubuque for about 25,000 which had Palma covered.

Palma talked to himself out loud and thought it over. Eventually the clock was called and the floor came over to administer the countdown. As the countdown reached zero Palma announced call.

Dubuque said good call and turned over the {8-Spades}{7-Spades}, while Palma had the lead with the {7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}. But the river would not reward the call as the {9-Diamonds} binked off to give Dubuque the straight and send Palma to the rail.

Smith Takes an Exit to Christensen

Level 9 : 400/800, 800 ante

A player opened to 1,600 from the hijack, Erik Christensen called on the button and Guy Smith moved all in for 6,000 in the small blind. Both of his opponents called and the flop came down {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}.

Action checked to Christensen, he fired in a bet and his opponent instantly mucked. Christensen tabled {a-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} for two pair and Smith turned over {a-Spades}{9-Spades}.

The board ran out {2-Hearts}{10-Hearts} and Smith failed to connect, losing to the full house of Christensen as he was eliminated from the tournament.
