Petrillo Wins a Massive Three-Way All In

Level 7 : 300/500, 500 ante

Daniel Lowery raised it up from middle position and was called by the player on his left and Ben Petrillo in the small blind. The flop came {10-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{5-Clubs} and Petrillo checked to Lowery, who continued for 4,000 into a pot of 6,000. Both players called and the {8-Diamonds} landed on the turn.

Petrillo checked again and Lowery dumped in a stack of 5,000 chips, enough to put both of his opponents at risk. The player in the hijack called off his last 26,500 chips and Petrillo rose from his chair in disbelief before also making the call.

Ben Petrillo: {6-Hearts}{4-Hearts}
Dan Lowery: {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}
Hijack: {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}

All three players had a big piece of the board and the {6-Spades} on the river ensured Petrillo won the pot with a straight.

The $1,700 Main Event is just one of a dozen gold ring events taking place at the Harrah’s Cherokee stop. For over a week, players have been competing for WSOP Circuit hardware and big chunks of prize money.

In Event #6: $600 Pot-Limit Omaha, a tournament that drew 229 entries and created a $117,935 prize pool, it was Nicholas Mandikos coming out on top to win $27,907 and his first gold ring.

“This is incredible, it’s surreal, “he told the media. “I’d Like to play more; I play when I can, I just play up here three times a year.”

Mandikos is truly a recreational player, so much so that he wasn’t even sure if he’d play any more events.

“We will see what happens, I will have to figure it out,” he said.

The $1,700 Main Event is just one of a dozen gold ring events taking place at the Harrah’s Cherokee stop. For over a week, players have been competing for WSOP Circuit hardware and big chunks of prize money.

In Event #5: $400 No-Limit Hold’em 6-Handed, 476 entrants created a $157,080 prize pool. Almost a year to the date after he won his first gold ring, 32-year-old web developer Shadrach Tercy of Jonesboro, Georgia claimed his second along with a $31,594 first-place prize.

He began the final table as the chip lead and never lost it even in the one-hour heads-up battle against David Burke.

“It just feels amazing, I mean this is actually like a year to the date from winning my first ring.” Tercy said. “I travel around to some stops, I mostly do the stops that are closer to me. I live in Atlanta, so I do Cherokee since it’s only a two-hour drive for me, and I do some Florida stops, Seminole and now they have added a Tampa stop so I plan to play that.”
