Wong Loses Flip To Bust; Chip Counts from Table 42

Level 9 : 400/800, 800 ante

Eric Wong had found himself down to about 18000 and shoved it in from middle position. Action folded around to Lee Markholt, who was in the cutoff and announced a call. The remaining players got out of their way and the two were off to the races.

Eric Wong: {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}
Lee Markholt: {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}

The flop came {q-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} to give Wong a commanding lead, priming him for a double in the meantime. The turn {k-Diamonds} gave him top two pair but gave Markholt four more outs to Broadway. The river {j-Spades} would fill up Markholt, leaving Wong's two pair to be second best as he got up from his seat and exited the tournament area.

Miller Shoves the River

Level 8 : 300/600, 600 ante

There was just under 10,000 in the pot on a board of {5-Spades}{6-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{7-Clubs} between Glenn Miller, who was under the gun, and Jasthi Kumar in the hijack. Miller checked to Kumar, who threw out a T5,000 chip and announced a bet of 4,500.

After a few moments, Miller check-raised to 12,000. Kumar didn't take long to call and the river came {7-Spades}. Miller announced he was all in for about 21,800, just shy of Kumar's remaining stack. Kumar went into the tank and ultimately decided to fold, leaving himself with around 22,800 behind as Miller took down the pot to bring him over 50,000 in chips.

Lancaster Turns Up a Set

Level 8 : 300/600, 600 ante
Mike Lancaster
Mike Lancaster

Ray Villaman opened to 1,600 from middle position, and Mike Lancaster three-bet to 4,500 from the hijack. The action folded back around to Villaman, who made the call.

Villaman check-called a 5,000 bet on the {4-Spades}{7-Hearts}{k-Clubs} flop. Villaman checked again on the {q-Hearts} turn, and Lancaster continued the aggression with a 6,000 bet. Villaman called again, bringing the {a-Hearts} on the river.

Villaman checked for a third time, and Lancaster fired the third barrel, this time for 12,000. That bet sent Villaman deep into the tank.

"I think we might have the same hand," Villaman said after a few minutes. He finally made the call, but saw the bad news when Lancaster turned over {q-Diamonds}{q-Spades} for a turned set of queens. Villman mucked his {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds} in frustration as Lancaster collected the pot.

Demersseman Fires Turn and River

Level 8 : 300/600, 600 ante

Adam Demersseman raised to 1,200 out of the hijack and was three-bet by Alex Condon in the cutoff to 4,200. Demersseman called and the two went heads up to the flop {j-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{8-Clubs} where action went check-check.

The turn fell {6-Hearts} and Demersseman bet 8,100. Condon thought for a bit and called.

The river came {10-Diamonds} and Demersseman put out another bet for 16,200. Condon confirmed the amount and proceeded to go into the tank. He thought for over a minute, counting out his remaining chips before checking his cards and picking them up to helicopter them into the muck pile from directly ahead in the five seat.

Condon Gets a Fold from Hoang

Level 8 : 300/600, 600 ante

There was around 25,000 in the pot as the dealer brought the river on a board of {3-Hearts}{2-Spades}{2-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{5-Clubs}. Action was heads up between Tony Hoang, who was in the big blind, and Alex Condon, who was on the button. Hoang checked and Condon fired out a bet of 12,800. Hoang thought for about a minute and decided to let his cards go.

Meanwhile, Abdulaziz Alaquil was recently eliminated on an adjacent table, resulting in another vacant seat on Table 43 for the time being.
