While PokerNews is here offering live updates from the $1,700 Main Event, we’d be remiss if we didn’t tell you about the full schedule of side events that have been playing out over the past week at the World Series of Poker Circuit Harveys Lake Tahoe.

In Event #4: $400 No-Limit Hold’em 126 runners created a $41,580 prize pool paid out to the top 19 players. Among those to cash but fall short of the final table were Dan Barker (10th - $798), Vincent Moscati (12th - $798), Mark Allen (16th - $615), Jed Hoffman (17th - $615), and Raymond Marchi (19th - $567).

The title came down to Jasthi Kumar and Sergio Vargas, with the latter battling back from a 10:1 chip deficit before the former stormed back himself to win it for $11,328 and his third career ring.

“He was behind every single time he was all in and he won all four times,” Kumar said after the win. “From the time we were in the money it was a smooth ride, but before that I was struggling. It feels great – really great. A win is a win.”

He added: “Those (trophies and rings) are more important to me, otherwise I wouldn’t play these tournaments. I would like to play bigger tournaments, but I cannot take off from work.”
