Karp Takes From Chalifour

Steve Karp raised to 3,500 under the gun and the hijack called along with Dan Chalifour in the small blind and Jane Hitchcock in the big blind.
The dealer fanned a flop of 
and Chalifour and Hitchcock checked. Karp bet 6,600 and the hijack folded. Chalifour check-raised to 16,600 and Hitchcock let it go but Karp quickly added the remainder to call.
The turn was the 
and Chalifour threw in a bet of 23,000 that Karp snap-called. The 
completed the board and both players checked. Chalifour showed 
for a pair of kings but that wasn't good enough as Karp revealed 
to win the pot with his set of eights.
