Yoo Check-Raises, Gets Paid

Level 6 : 200/400, 400 ante

With about 13,000 already in the middle, Cheang Yoo checked on the river of a {4-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{7-Diamonds} board, from the cutoff.

His button opponent bet 7,500, and Yoo thought over the decison for several moments, before putting in a raise to 18,500.

The button went into the tank for awhile, then made the call. Yoo turned over {4-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{7-Diamonds} for a rivered straight, and the button player flung his cards into the muck, showing a {4-} as he folded.

Sankari Takes From Johnson

Level 6 : 200/400, 400 ante
Ghassan Sankari
Ghassan Sankari

The player in early position raised to 1,200 and Charles Johnson called from middle position along with Ghassan Sankari on the cutoff. The big blind defended as well.

The flop came {10-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} and action was checked to Johnson who bet 3,000. Sankari raised to 10,000 and the big blind and the player in early position gave up their hands.

Johnson thought for a long while, then also folded {j-Spades}{10-Diamonds} face up. Sankari showed {a-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} for a pair of nines in return.

"You showed me, so I had to show you," commented Sankari jokingly.

Murray Raises Turn, Shuts Down Opponents

Level 6 : 200/400, 400 ante

With {k-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{7-Spades} on the board, the big blind bet 800, and got calls from Tim McDermott in middle position, as well as Chris Murray in the cutoff.

The big blind bet 4,000 on the {8-Spades} turn, McDermott called, and Murray raised to 12,000. The big blind quickly folded, and McDermott thought it over for awhile before giving up his hand.

With that pot, Murray is near three times the starting stack as the second break of the day approaches.

Altenhofen Grabs a Double on the River

Level 6 : 200/400, 400 ante

Nathan Altenhofen raised to 1,100 from middle position and the player in the hijack three-bet to 3,200. Altenhofen added the remainder to call.

The dealer spread a flop of {j-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} and Altenhofen moved all in for 4,600. His opponent went deep into the tank, then made the call.

Nathan Altenhofen: {6-Clubs}{6-Hearts}
Opponent: {8-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}

Altenhofen had a pair of sixes but his opponent was ahead with a pair of eights. However that didn't last long as the {5-Hearts} and {6-Spades} river completed the board and Altenhofen doubled up with his set of sixes.

"Pay that man, pay him. Wow," muttered the player in the hijack.

"But that was a good call," commented a player at the table.

KO for Trivett

Level 5 : 200/300, 300 ante

Michael Trivett continues to get involved in some big pots, with the latest sending Lee Nhuy to the rail.

The hand started with Trivett opening for 700 under the gun, and Nhuy three-betting to 1,700 on Trivett's direct left. Action folded back around to Trivett, who made the call.

Trivett checked the {4-Hearts}{3-Spades}{j-Diamonds} flop, Nhuy put his remaining T5000 chip into the pot, and Trivett called.

Lee Nhuy: {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}
Michael Trivett: {6-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}

Trivett's pocket sixes were ahead on the flop, and no help came on the {7-Clubs} and {3-Hearts} river for Nhuy.
