Koeln Back in the Lead

Level 25 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Mark Koeln opened for 60,000 second to act and Brett Apter defended the big blind. They each checked the flop for a board of {8-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{7-Spades}{10-Diamonds}. Apter check-called 75,000 then check-called 100,000 on the {6-Clubs}. Koeln announced two pair and showed {7-Clubs}{6-Spades} to win it.

Hoffman Doubles on Cooler

Level 25 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Dean Hoffman opened early for 60,000 and got called by Zack Mullennix on his left and big blind Mark Koeln. Hoffman continued for 125,000 on the {q-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{10-Spades} flop, and it stayed three ways to the {5-Hearts}. Hoffman shoved for 510,000 and Mullennix quickly called. Koeln flashed the {q-Spades} and mucked.

Hoffman: {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}
Mullennix: {q-Clubs}{10-Clubs}

Hoffman's set was best, and the river was a {k-Clubs}.

"He just does it," Brett Apter said with a smile.

Helstern Doubles Through Lawson

Level 25 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Jorden Helstern shoved for 350,000 in the cutoff and Jon Lawson called in the small blind.

Lawson: {a-Diamonds}{10-Spades}
Helstern: {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds}

The board ran {5-Spades}{6-Hearts}{9-Spades}{q-Spades}{5-Hearts}, so Helstern faded a pile of river cards to double.

Hoffman Shows One

Level 25 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Brett Apter opened for 60,000 under the gun and got action from Dean Hoffman on the button and Jorden Helstern in the big blind. Action checked to the last turn on {k-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{q-Spades}. Finally, Hoffman broke the stalemate with 200,000. Helstern folded and Apter seemed a little sick at the situation before he gave it up as well.

Hoffman showed the {6-Clubs} and mucked.

Lawson Gets Value from Waller

Level 25 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Jon Lawson opened on the button for 60,000 and Kevin Waller defended the big blind. Waller check-called 75,000 on the {k-Hearts}{a-Hearts}{3-Clubs} flop. Both players checked the {8-Hearts} for a {4-Clubs} river. Waller checked and quickly called 200,000 but mucked upon seeing {a-Spades}{q-Clubs}.

Kevin Waller opened for 60,000 in middle position and Scott Caldwell jammed in the small blind for 425,000 or so. Waller thought briefly and called.

Waller: {j-Clubs}{10-Clubs}
Caldwell: {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}

The {6-Spades}{a-Spades}{10-Spades} flop was a solid one for Caldwell, but the {j-Diamonds} turn left him calling for a river spade. It was a {4-Diamonds} though, and Caldwell was slightly covered.

Steve Buell shoved on the button with {a-}{8-} for 260,000 and found a good spot when Jon Lawson called with {a-}{7-} in the big blind. Unfortunately for Buell, a seven on the flop and another on the turn sent him to payouts.

Koeln Shows a Bluff

Level 24 : 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Mark Koeln opened early and Brett Apter defended the big blind. The flop was checked through for a board of {5-Hearts}{2-Spades}{6-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}. Apter bet 100,000 and Koeln made it 200,000. Apter called and checked the {a-Spades}. Koeln bet 300,000.

"This is a weird one," Apter said with a smile.

"Not for me, I don't know what you have," Koeln said with a laugh.

Apter folded about 30 seconds later, saying he had a six.

"All right, I have to show this one," Koeln said, rolling over {q-Spades}{10-Spades}.
