One Pair is Good for Smith

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Chad Smith raised it up to 20,000 in middle position and Warren Sheaves called on his left. The two players went heads-up to a flop of {j-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{7-Hearts} and Smith continued with a bet of 25,000. Sheaves called and the {10-Spades} rolled off on the turn.

With four cards to a straight on the board, both players checked to the {2-Clubs} on the river. Smith counted out a bet of 53,000 and Sheaves looked him up. Smith flipped over {q-Spades}{q-Hearts} for an overpair and Sheaves was unable to beat it.

Updated Chip Counts

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Matthew Higgins just recently eliminated Mack Ham to climb up the leaderboard after being down to just ten big blinds in the last level. Ham got the last of his 125,000 chips in the middle with pocket aces and Higgins held onto pocket kings. A king on the flop gave Higgins the lead and Ham was unable to stay alive.

Sablotny Out-Flops Henderson

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Trace Henderson raised it up from middle position and H.B. Sablotny defended from the big blind. The flop came {k-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} and Sablotny checked to Henderson who continued for 14,000. Sablotny check-raised to 35,000 and Henderson announced all in. Sablotny quickly called off his stack of 119,000.

H.B. Sablotny: {k-Hearts}{5-Hearts}
Trace Henderson: {k-Spades}{q-Clubs}

Sablotny flopped two pair to take the lead and the {8-Clubs} on the turn along with the {7-Spades} on the river left it that way. Sablotny scored a double up and knocked Henderson down a bit.

Sheaves Flushes Small to the Rail

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Sean Small
Sean Small

Sean Small raised it up to 13,000 from under the gun and picked up four callers along the way. The flop fell {k-Clubs}{q-Spades}{8-Clubs} and Small continued with a bet of 34,000. Warren Sheaves was the only player to make the call from a couple of seats over.

The turn brought the {a-Clubs} and Small went into the tank for over two minutes before moving all in for his last 68,000 chips. Sheaves instantly called and tabled {j-Clubs}{9-Clubs} for a turned flush. Small was still drawing live with {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds} but the {10-Spades} on the river did not pair the board and Small was eliminated.

Whittington Gets Paid Off

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Joshua Johnson opened to 14,000 in early position and was called by Blake Whittington on his left along with Johnny Landreth in the big blind. The flop fell {q-Spades}{6-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} and Landreth checked to Johnson who continued for 29,000. Whittington called and Landreth got out of the way.

The turn brought the {4-Spades} and both players checked to the {a-Clubs} on the river. Johnson led out with a bet of 45,000 and Whittington raised to 128,000. It didn't take long for Johnson to call and Whittington showed {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs} which was enough to beat the {a-Spades}{8-Spades} of Johnson.

Higgins Doubles Through Pho

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Matthew Higgins was down to just ten big blinds and shoved all in for 60,000 in early position. Chico Pho called on the button and the blinds both folded.

Matthew Higgins: {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}
Chico Pho: {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}

It was a coin flip and Higgins took the lead on the {a-Spades}{10-Hearts}{5-Spades} flop. The {9-Clubs} on the turn nor the {8-Diamonds} on the river would help Pho as he sent over a small double up.
