A day that began with 146 hopefuls ended with only 17 players who now have a serious chance to make a run at the WSOPC Rio Main Event Ring.

Leading the final 17 as the day came to a close was Adam Hendrix with a whopping amount of 3,125,000. Hendrix began to build just before and after dinner break, amassing piles that would bring him into the lead as the night ended.

Some distance behind him in second was Bradley Hinson who bagged 2,275,000. Hinson also waited until late in the day to start his move to the top, gaining a significant amount in the very last level of the night.

A touch behind him in third was Faisal Siddiqui with 2,265,000 who had a more up and down day, taking the chip lead before the final break but getting sent down to just 1 million after losing a big hand to Louise Francoeur. But he recovered very nicely in the final level to regain a strong chip position.

KC Panjwani (2,110,000) and start of day chip leader Trung Pham (1,955,000) rounded out the top five stacks to end the day.

Longsheng Tan ended the day as one of the shorter stacks with 730,000 after being the story in the early part of the day as he was the first to eclipse the 1 million chip mark.

Day 2 was a raucous day of action that saw almost 90% of the starting field hit the rail as the day went on including; David Pham (77th), Aaron Massey (60th), Kathy Liebert (44th), Faraz Jaka (31st) and Sorel Mizzi (21st).

Day 3 will begin Tuesday February 25 at 1 p.m. local time on level 26 with blinds at 20,000/40,000 and a 40,000 big blind ante.

PokerNews will have all the coverage for the exciting final day as a winner will be crowned.
