Matuschek Chips Up in Showdown Against Wintermann

Level 7 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Tobias Matuschek
Tobias Matuschek

On the tail end of a heads-up pot between Anthony Wintermann and Tobias Matuschek, the board showed {a-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{9-Clubs} and there were around 35,000 in the middle. Wintermann had checked to Matuschek, who bet 18,000 for half the pot. Deep in the tank, Wintermann eventually called and Matuschek rolled over the {q-Clubs}{j-Hearts} for the nuts to chip up and pull ahead of his table neighbour.

Triple-Up For Kinno

Level 7 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Nadir Kinno shoved all in for 8,000 and was called by Engin Arslan. That was not enough chips in the pot for Itamar Nachshon who pumped it up to 22,000. Once again Arslan called to a flop of {4-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{5-Hearts}. Nachshon bet 75,000 on the flop which was enough for Arslan to quickly fold.

Kinno revealed {3-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} hitting a set on the flop. Nachshon was only drawing for a chop after he turned over {q-Clubs}{j-Clubs}. The {k-Spades} on the turn and {5-Clubs} on river confirmed Kinno's treble-up; but Nachshon won a sizeable side-pot.

Muric Mourns Dreadful River

Level 8 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Duc Quy Nguyen and Murahem Muric headed to the {8-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} turn on which the former got the last 37,000 in with some 35,000 in the middle. Muric gave it plenty of consideration and eventually made the call with the superior stack.

Duc Quy Nguyen: {5-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}
Muharem Muric: {a-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}

Muric was way ahead with the superior pair and nut flush draw. However, the dreadful {6-Spades} fell on the river to give Nguyen a straight for the double.

Two Barrels Are Enough for Kopyl

Level 8 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Waldemar Kopyl raised it up to 2,500 and earned a call from Sangguk Im from one seat over. Clement Cure also came along out of the big blind and the trio headed to the {9-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{3-Hearts} flop. Cure checked to the initial raiser, who continued for 3,000.

Two calls later, the {3-Spades} appeared on the turn and Cure checked once more. Kopyl now bet 12,000 and that was enough to win the pot right there without any resistance.

Morgenstern Felted by Chaitas

Level 8 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Ioannis Chaitas recently lost some chips but he got some of them back soon after. The open raise by Chaitas triggered the three-bet shove by Anton Morgenstern in the big blind for the last 21,600 and Chaitas instantly called.

Anton Morgenstern: {a-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}
Ioannis Chaitas: {a-Hearts}{a-Spades}

The {j-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{3-Clubs} flop brought a glimpse of hope but there was no miracle on the {k-Diamonds} turn and {q-Diamonds} river, as the aces held for Chaitas.

Assorted Counts in the Field

Level 8 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

On a completed board of {q-Spades}{4-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{5-Spades}, Zhong Chen was all-in for 31,700 in the small blind and that sent Stephanie Agostinetti into the tank. She gave it plenty of thought but eventually released her cards into the muck.

Chen sweeped the pot to climb back after the starting stack while Agostinetti dropped below the average.
