Jonathan McCann Leads Final 16 of WSOPC UK £1,100 Main Event
Day 2 of the WSOPC UK £1,100 Main Event, held at Dusk Till Dawn in Nottingham, has now reached it’s conclusion.
A total of 140 players returned for the start of the day. The field has been whittled down to just 16 remaining players vying for the top spots.
Some 63 players made at least a min-cash of £2,000 and the next player eliminated will walk away with £4,500. The pay jumps become much more dramatic on the final table, where the winner is set to walk away with £100,000.
Jonathan McCann leads after Day 2 with a touch over 4 million chips. McCann final tabled a WSOP event back in 2017 for $71,540. He also came second in the 2022 UKIPT at this very venue last year for £74,500. His stack is over three times the average, putting him in a commanding position when play resumes.
Currently in second place with over 3.3 million chips is Jamie O'Connor, another regular on the circuit who has himself made a WSOP final table, finishing third place for $317,956.
Matthew Gray is close behind in third place, with Hong Pham and Gary Miller rounding out the top five.

Day 2 Recap
Early in Day 2, we followed the highs and lows of Andrew Tuxworth as he had his full house cracked and then proceeded to go all in blind several times before eventually busting.
McCann, who is now chip leader, eliminated Jack O'Neill shortly before the money. McCann would go on to catch Eardley's bluff in a huge pot that very much contributed to his lead.
After a few rounds hand for hand, Pham, who sits in fourth place at the end of Day 2, knocked out Nguyen Khoa Le to burst the bubble.
At around the mid-point of the day, Nikolai Mamut ran his kings into Li’s aces. Li is still in the tournament, but will need a big run if he’s to make it all the way.
As the event reached just a few tables, the current big stacks emerged. Steven Warburton paired his aces to eliminate Luigi Viscomi; Matthew Gray's aces held against Li's kings; Hong Pham continued to chip up and won a late flip to bust Sharda; and, right before the final hands were dealt, Jamie 'Connor won a three way all in to bring him up to second in chips.
When play resumes on the Final Day of the WSOPC £1,100 Main Event, blinds will be on 20,000/40,000 with a 40,000 ante. Blind levels will run for 60 minutes, and the event will play down to a winner.
