The curtain has fallen on the first day of the $3,300 High Roller event here at the 2024 World Series of Poker Circuit Playground. By the end of the day, the field stood at 147 entrants of which 54 players remain. That number will continue to grow as late registration will be available for two full levels after the start of Day 2 tomorrow.

Stephane Blouin-Verroeulst bagged the overall chip lead, finishing with 313,500 worth 157 big blinds going into Day 2. Blouin-Verroeulst is most closely followed by Seyed Hosseini (311,000) and Theodore Doukas (305,500) while Jeffrey Cormier (298,500) and Suren Chelian (249,000) round out the top five.

Mullen Gets Paid with Cowboys

With two playerrs seeing a board of K6102 and roughly 8,000 in the middle, Anoop Jugurnath checked from the big blind and Richard Mullen bet 6,500 from the button. Jugurnath made the call.

Jugurnath lead out with a bet of 13,500 on the A river and Mullen quickly called. Jugurnath could only show 109 for third pair turned into a bluff while Mullen tabled KK for a set of kings to take the pot.

Perceval Picks Off a Bluff

Ruben Perceval opened to 3,500 from middle position and was called by Dejan Kovinic in the big blind.

Both players checked the flop and turn leading to a final board of 74866. Kovinic bet 5,500 and Perceval called.

Kovinic could only show K10 for a bluff while Perceval tabled QQ for two pair to take the pot.

Rayan Chamas opened to 2,700 from under the gun and received calls from Khaly Dang in the cutoff and Ian Monahoyios in the big blind.

The flop came 764. Monahoyios checked, Chamas bet 6,500, Dang called and Monahoyios called.

Chamas bet again when checked to on the A turn, this time for 12,000. Dang folded before Monahoyios went all in, covering Chamas who had roughly 15,000 behind.

Chamas took about 90 seconds before opting to fold. Monahoyios showed 98 for nine-high and a straight draw before dragging in a healthy pot without showdown.

Also at this table is Jeffrey Cormier, who has built a considerable stack and is approaching 300,000 in chips.

Sienichkin Puts Ulmer in the Blender

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

With two players seeing a board of 664 and roughly 20,000 in the middle, Timothy Ulmer checked in the big blind and Vadyn Sienichkin bet 7,000 from the cutoff. Ulmer made the call.

Ulmer check-called another bet from Sienichkin on the 10 turn, this time for 17,000.

On the 9 river Ulmer checked once more and Sienichkin bet 67,000, putting Ulmer deep into the tank.

After a few minutes the clock was called. Ulmer let the entire 60 seconds run out before his hand was declared dead and Sienichkin took down a nice pot without showdown.

Hinnegan Flops a Set and Gets Paid

Samuel Roussy-Majeau opened to 2,000 from middle position and received calls from Eun Park in the hijack and Brady Hinnegan in the big blind.

The flop came J93. Hinnegan checked, Roussy-Majeau bet 2,500, Park called, Hinnegan check-raised to 11,000, Roussy-Majeau called and Park folded.

Hinnegan bet 11,000 on the J turn and was once again called by Roussy-Majeau.

On the 6 river Hinnegan shoved, covering Roussy-Majeau who had roughly 17,000 behind. Roussy-Majeau made the call.

Hinnegan tabled 33 for a full house to take down a nice pot while Roussy-Majeau made his exit from the tournament area.
