Three-way on a flop of 948, Jean-Marc Chiba in the cutoff bet 2,500. He made Jean-Marc Chiba in the big blind fold, but Paul Amsellem in middle position check-called.

Both players checked the 10 turn leading to the 9 river where Amsellem checked again. Gogniat bet 8,000, and he made Amsellem fold.

Late registration closed at the end of Level 9, and as expected, Day 1b of the WSOPC Marrakech Main Event broke records with 734 entries.

This brings the total to 1,315 entries so far, already surpassing last year’s total of 1,163 entrants.

Day 1c Turbo, which starts at 10 p.m., is expected to further increase this number. In 2024, 152 entries were recorded in this third flight.

Sow Makes Everybody Fold

Level 10 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Kalidou Sow opened to 2,400 from under the gun. He was called by "Hurricane" to his left, and by the big blind.

Sow bet 5,000 on the KQJ, but his opponents didn't back down and called.

On the 6 turn, he fired a second barrel of 16,000. However this time, he made his opponents fold.

Winner of the WSOPC High Roller yesterday, Anthony Apicella is now in the Main Event. From the button, he opened to 2,000. The small blind wanted to raise, but his action was a call, allowing the big blind to call as well.

The dealer fanned a flop of 258 and the small blind led out for 3,000. Apicella was the only one to call.

Both players checked the Q leading to the 3 river where the small blind bet 4,000. Apicella eventually made the call, but lost to his opponent's 99.
