Fernandes Doubles Before Dinner

Level 9 : 300/600, 75 ante

In the last hand before the break Pedro Miguel Fernandes three-bet all-in against his opponent who made the call. He held {2-Hearts}{2-Spades} whereas his Spanish opponent had {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds}. "Deuces never loses" came the cry and they duly delivered on a board of {3-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{K-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}. Fernandes will have well over average chips to come back to after his dinner break.

Paon Busts Guenni

Level 9 : 300/600, 75 ante

Romain Paon, sporting a rather fetching PCA 2016 sweatshirt raised from the cutoff to 2,000 over a middle position raise. The button called and Jacques Guenni in the small blind moved all in for just under 8,000. The initial raiser fold and Romain Paon quickly moved all in to isolate the player on the button. He folded and the cards were turned over.

Paon: {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}
Guenni: {Q-Clubs}{Q-Spades}

There was an Ace in the window for Paon and Guenni banged his fist against the table as the flop was dealt {A-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} and there was no help on the turn or river as the board bricked for Guenni {4-Clubs}{10-Spades}. As soon as the Paon saw the Ace he moved round to the other side of the table to kiss Guenni on both cheeks. Jacques Guenni now has 30 minutes plus the dinner break to decide if he wants to reenter

Twelve levels are scheduled for the day when players will bag and tag ahead of Day 2 tomorrow

Hakim Flushes with Chips

Level 8 : 250/500, 50 ante

It's a scary place to be with the potential chipleader of the day on your immediate left. Tell that to Muhammed Hakim who not only raised pre-flop but bet into him on the flop. Nokra Mouad eventually got out of the way, and Hakim got some more chips off a tablemate after he bet three streets with {7-Hearts}{9-Hearts} on {8-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{3-Spades}{2-Hearts} and got paid each time

Breviglieri Busts Menjra

Level 7 : 200/400, 50 ante

Natalia Breviglieri has chipped up at the expense of Abdella Menjra who has been eliminated. She filled PokerNews in on the details. She raised to 7500 with {A-}{Q-} over a raise and three calls and saw a flop of {Q-}{5-}{2-} with two diamonds. Breviglieri checked and then called the shove of Menjra who turned over {A-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} for a flush draw. However the baord completed {Q-}{6-} to give his chips to the Brit.

She now sits on over double the average stack which now sits at 40,693 with 202 players remaining

Queiroz with Lots of Chips

Level 7 : 200/400, 50 ante

There appears to be a new chipleader on the block. Carlos Queiroz is sitting on a stack of just under 100,000 and is putting it to good use. Raising Mohamed El Hamdi pre-flop and then betting the flop of {10-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{2-Spades}. El Hamdi folded and Quieroz groaned showing {10-}{10-} "Raise!". El Hamdi said he also had a pair
