WSOP Circuit NLH Main Event

Day 1a Started

Welcome to Day 1a of the 2021 WSOP International Circuit Main Event at the King's Resort

Main Event Day 1a
Main Event Day 1a

Live poker is back in Europe and the biggest poker arena has been welcoming guests from near and far. The WSOP International Circuit headed to the King's Resort in Rozvadov, home of the WSOP Europe festival throughout the last few years. It all wraps up with the flagship €1,700 Main Event, which takes place from September 10 to 14.

The tournament comes with a €1 million guarantee and consists of two starting days on September 10 and 11. Each of them will play nine levels of 60 minutes each and allows for two re-entries. Day 1a will kick off at 2pm local time. However, the late registration for the event itself is open until the start of level 12 on September 12.

One hour prior to the start, Day 1a of the Main Event shows 40 entrants while a €200 satellite is still underway. There were a total of 129 entries and the top 14 finishers will receive the €1,700 ticket whereas the 15th receives €710 for the efforts. Among those in the mix were Philipp Zukernik, Karol Konopka, Bernd Werner, Jelka Andelic, Maryna Khatskevich, Elias Abou Saleh, and Oliver Heidel.

Many further regulars at King's are expected to join the action and the poker arena has seen solid numbers throughout the entire festival so far. Stay tuned to find out who takes a shot at the WSOP Circuit Ring in the next few days, as the PokerNews team will be there from start to finish.

Lange Takes From Maes

Level 1 : 100/200, 200 ante

Davy Maes was the initial preflop aggressor as the button was in front of Eric Lange. Picking up the action on the {a-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{2-Spades} flop, Maes check-called for 1,200 and then check-raised the {6-Clubs} turn from 2,000 to 5,000. Lange made the call to see the {7-Spades} on the river.

Maes now bet 8,000 and Lange called with {a-Spades}{j-Spades} for the flush, which beat Maes' {9-Hearts}{6-Hearts} for trips sixes.

Two Barrels by Ivanov

Level 1 : 100/200, 200 ante

Shay Rozenbaum raised it up to 600 in the hijack and was called by Maksim Ivanov from one seat over. On a flop of {q-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{6-Spades}, Rozenbaum continued for 700 and then called a raise to 2,200 by his table neighbour. The {5-Spades} fell on the turn and Rozenbaum checked, which prompted a bet worth 3,100 by Ivanov.

That ended the resistance of the Rozenbaum as he sent the cards into the muck.

Also featured on the table is Maureen Bloechlinger as well, who entered right at the start of Day 1a.
