Gabe Kaplan Cracks Antonio Esfandiari's Aces

Fans of "High Stakes Poker' know that Antonio Esfandiari has had bad, bad luck with pocket aces during the first two seasons of that show. Well, Gabe Kaplan brought the evil mojo out of the broadcast booth down to the table. The flop of {A-Clubs} {3-Spades} {5-Spades} gave Antonio a set, but gave Kaplan a flush draw. All the chips ended up in the middle, and the {9-Spades} on the river added another entry to the long ledger of tough beats Esfandiari has suffered with pocket rockets. Kaplan is now up around 17,000 and Antonio is down to around 8K.

Devilfish Loses a Pot

On a board of {8-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{7-Clubs}, Devilfish bet 1300. Chad Layne stood up to see the cards.

"That's a good sign," joked the Devilfish.

Layne eventually called after figuring out where he was in the hand. He flipped over Q-8 for two pair while Devilfish showed 10-8.

Robert Mizrachi Outduels Greg Raymer

Mizrachi raised 250, and both Greg "FossilMan" Raymer in the small blind and the big blind called. Mizrachi led out 750 after an ace-high flop, and both players checked after an eight fell on the turn. FossilMan bet 1,300 after a Queen fell on the river and was called by Mizrachi, who turned over A-Q and took the pot.
