Zintel Rudolf Runs Another Bluff

After trying to push Barry Greenstein off two pair in a previous hand, Zintel Rudolf attempted the same feat on Mimi Tran.

Rudolf raised from early position, Mimi Tran re-raised, and Rudolf called. The flop was the {10-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{4-Spades}, Rudolf bet, Tran raised and Rudolf called. The turn was the {K-Hearts}. Rudolf bet and Tran called all-in. Rudolf showed the {A-Spades}{Q-Spades} while Tran was ahead with {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}. Rudolf needed an ace, queen or a jack on the river to take the hand. Greenstein Starts the Day Right

Barry Greenstein raised, Zintel Rudolf re-raised and Greenstein called. The flop was the {K-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} and both players checked. The turn was the {3-Spades}. Greenstein bet, Rudolf raised and Greenstein called. The river was the {3-Clubs}. Greenstein check-called a bet from Rudolf. Rudolf showed the {A-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} for... ace kicker with the pair of threes, while Greenstein flipped over the {K-Spades}{Q-Hearts} for two pair.

After the hand, the second one Barry had taken in a row, Liz Lieu scrambled over to Greenstein's chair and picked up a copy of his book "Ace on the River" and playfully started thumbing through it.

"I guess I should read this!" she quipped.

Poker's Iron Men

Eli Elezra and Howard Lederer were chatting about some of the crazy behavior they've witnessed in recent days from some of poker's top players. Elezra related a story to Lederer about how Ted Forrest played for 24 hours straight in the "Big Game" at Bellagio, lost $400,000, and left that game at noon to go play in a tournament that had a first place prize of only $80,000.

Lederer then told Elezra about how Phil Ivey played for hours at the final table of the $5,000 seven-card stud event, finished second, and then immediately headed to play the $1,500 stud event.

"How do you do that?" Lederer remarked. "How do you go from a final table to a $1,500 buy-in event? How do you switch gears like that?"
