Our New Chip Leader Is . . .

Derek Boice, and how he got there is a twisted little tale. A player on the button raised and Boice, holding {Q-Spades}{J-Clubs}, called. The flop came {J-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{7-Spades}. A good flop, yes? Well, no -- Boice's opponent had pocket Sevens. Both players checked and when the {4-Hearts} fell on the river Boice check-called a 5,000 bet.

And then came the plot twist -- the {Q-Hearts} spiked on the river. Boice bet 8,000, his opponent naturally moved all in for 25,000 more, and Boice called and showed his bigger boat. And that hand helped boost Boice's stack up to 105,000.
