Starting and Restarting WSOP Events

With a huge field today, both the start time for today's event and the restart times for both Events 1 & 2 from yesterday have been adjusted. Perhaps we should address the rules on starting tournaments for this year's WSOP.

All noon starts will play until 2 AM and will restart the following day at 2 PM. Obviously the start times may be delayed but notice that yesterday's event began a bit late but still ended last night at 2 AM. Today's noon event began a full hour late but we have been assured it also will end at 2 AM tonight.

The WSOP staff basically wants players to know that they will never play longer than the announced schedule. The one issue players are talking about is the late restarts. Today the restart of Event #1 was scheduled for 2 PM and with no way to notify players, they all showed up at 2. With the delay they will not be restarting until 4:30, however, those 97 players must still play down to a final table of nine tonight. That could make for a very late night.

The start of the final table will be set only when Day Two is over, so players will have sufficient down time before coming back tomorrow. We have been told a minimum of twelve hours will be scheduled between the end of Day Two and the start of the final table, the following day.
