The RunGood Poker Series returns to where it all began when the Golden Expedition Joplin $700 Main Event begins today at 6 p.m. local time.
The Downstream Casino Resort, where the first RGPS event was held more than a decade ago, will again host a throng of players each chasing a championship ring and a piece of the $150,000 guaranteed prize pool. Today marks the first of four starting flights taking place over the next three days.
Players on Day 1a begin with a 30,000 starting stack. Levels will be 30 minutes, with a break after every four levels. Late registration is open through the first eight levels, and unlimited reentries are allowed during the registration period. Play will conclude once 12.5 percent of the field remains.
All surviving players from the four opening flights will combine for Day 2 on Sunday, September 20, at 11 a.m. to play down to a champion. The action on Day 2 picks up on the earliest finishing time from one of the opening flights.

This is the second RunGood stop in Joplin this year. Cody Hughey won the last event back in April, beating out a field of 752 players to earn $67,940. RunGood ambassador Jeff Copeland also made the final table.
