Garland Walters Pops the Bubble

Facing a very large all-in bet, on a flop of {7-Spades}{2-Hearts}{6-Spades}, Garland Walters counted and recounted his chips before finally making the call with {A-Spades}{5-Spades}.

His opponent, facing potential elimination, reluctantly flips over a pair of jacks and has to sweat out two more cards.

The turn brought the {7-Diamonds} and you could practically hear the surrounding players thinking out loud, hoping for an ace or a spade on the river. Sure enough, the {A-Diamonds} fell on the river and the bubble player graciously shook Garland's hand before walking out of the tournament area.

Tehan Loses a Monster to Terrence Chan

Shortly after the tournament staff made the announcement that all remaining players were in the money, Joe Tehan lost a huge pot to Terrence Chan.

Chan made it 3,600 to go before the flop holding pocket queens. Tehan reraised to 7,500, after which Chan bumped it up again to 21,000.

Tehan immediately said, "All in," sending Chan into the tank. After running the math in his head, Chan made the call and was pleased to see Tehan turn over pocket fives.

The board came jack high, and Chan's queens held up, earning him the pot and the chip lead; he now has over 200,000 chips.

Tehan dropped to 60,000 on the hand.

Hoyt Feels Lucky

After the player in the small blind pushes all in preflop, Hoyt Corkins goes into the tank. "Well, I think I've been lucky," he says as he calls the all-in and turns over {Q-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}. His opponent shows 7-3 and Hoyt hits the {J-Spades} on the flop.

Frazer Gets Rivered

Dan Morris is all in preflop against Ian Frazer.

Dan Morris: {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts}
Ian Frazer: {Q-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}

Flop: {Q-Spades}{J-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}
Turn: {3-Hearts}
River: {10-Diamonds}

After making Broadway on the river, Frazer remarks, "You deserve to get busted the way you played that. You played like a fish."

While Morris moved up to 129,000 in chips, Frazer is left crippled at 12,500.

Tehan Regains the Chip Lead

It was Tehan vs. Chan, II and this time, Joe Tehan came out on top. Joe hit a third queen on the flop to best Terrence Chan's pocket aces and hoist him back into the chip lead.

Tehan now has a commanding lead over the field with 215,000 chips, while Chan has dropped to 60,000.

Unfortunately, we won't have a Tehan vs. Chan III, unless the two are reunited later in the tournament; their table was broken shortly after this hand took place.
