Nam Le Takes a Big Hit

The cutoff raised to 1,100 and Nam Le called from the big blind. The flop was {6-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}. Le checked, the cutoff bet 2,000 and Le called. The turn was the {10-Spades}. Le checked, the cutoff moved all in for 5,500 and Le called. The river was the {J-Spades} and the cutoff's {K-Spades}{K-Hearts} was good enough to drag the pot, crippling Le.

"How Could You Raise with 5 High?"

Vanessa Selbst raised to 1,100 from late position, the big blind moved all in for 1,550, and Selbst called the additional 450. Typical of her aggressive style, Selbst showed the {3-Clubs}{4-Clubs} and the big blind tabled... {4-Spades}{5-Spades}. The board came Q-Q-2-A-K, and the 5 ended up playing, awarding the pot to Selbst's opponent.

"How could you raise with 5 high and no fold equity!" Selbst exclaimed after the hand. Her stack was still quite healthy though, at 46,000.

Seidel Proves That Any Two Cards Can Win

On a board showing {7-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{6-Clubs}, an opponent checked from the small blind to Erik Seidel in the big blind, who bet 2,300; his opponent called.

The river brought the {Q-Diamonds} and again the action was checked to Seidel who upped the price to 6,000. His opponent called, and Seidel showed {K-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} for two pair, which was good enough to take down the pot.

Seidel now has 22,000 chips.
