Michael Pollowitz Is Eliminated in 7th Place

On hand #42 Michael Pollowitz limped and Randy Jensen checked in the big blind. The flop came {A-Spades}{5-Clubs}{4-Hearts} and when Jensen bet Pollowitz moved all-in for the last of his chips. Jensen called and showed A-4-J-7 for two pair and a better low draw, while Pollowitz held A-Q-Q-10 with the Ace and Ten of clubs. When the {2-Clubs} hit on the turn it gave Michael a flush draw as well. But the {9-Diamonds} fell on the river and that means Pollowitz will collect $44,744 for his seventh-place finish.

Bart Hanson Is Eliminated in 8th Place

Bart Hanson
Bart Hanson
After winning half the pot on the previous hand when he made a full house, Bart Hanson was eliminated on hand #35 by Randy Jensen. Hanson flopped a pair of fives, but Jensen picked up a pair of sevens on the turn and that modest pair was enough to win the pot when no low hand qualified. Bart Hanson won $32,900 for his eighth-place finish.

Delayed Effect

Every player has supporters sitting in the audience and when a big pot develops the whole room has to wait while our tournament director dissects the hand and figures out who, if anyone, actually won all the chips. You don't hear much whooping unless someone is scooping.

Did I actually write that? Sorry, it was a long night.

Randy Jensen Scoops Max Reynard to Double Up

When Max Reynard raised on hand #30, Randy Jensen called and they saw a flop of {7-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{10-Spades}. Jensen called Reynard's bet and when the {4-Diamonds} turned and Reynard bet 40K, Jensen moved in for the last of his chips. Jensen had A-2 for the nut low and needed a diamond or a spade on the river to make a winning flush, and the {J-Diamonds} on the river was just what Jensen needed to win the pot and double up.

Greg Jamison Scoops a Pot

Greg Jamison

On hand #28 Bart Hanson, Randy Jensen and Greg Jamison all checked after seeing a {6-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} flop. When the {8-Diamonds} fell on the turn Jamison bet 40K and Hanson called, and he also called Jamison's bet on the river when the {5-Hearts} fell. Jamison held A-2 for the nut low, and a pair of threes for his high, and that was good enough to scoop Hanson who had no pair and an A-4 for the low.
