J.J. Liu Has Been Eliminated

J.J. Liu and six other players were in the pot when the flop came {5-Spades}{3-Spades}{9-Clubs}. Liu bet 2,100 from middle position, players folded around to the small blind who raised the pot and Liu called all-in. At that point, Liu had top pair with the {9-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}. But her opponent had flopped a set with {5-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} and was in the lead. The {10-Hearts}{A-Hearts} were no help, and Liu was eliminated.

T.J. Takes One Out

On a board reading Q-8-7, T.J. Cloutier called an opponent's 2,800 all-in bet holding A-Q, for top pair, top kicker. His opponent flipped over a pocket pair of 9's and the turn and river came blank, blank, awarding T.J. the pot.

After the hand, T.J. has 26,400 chips.

Shawn Deeb Calls His Opponents Bluff and Takes the Pot

Shawn Deeb doubled up after calling his opponents bluff. The under-the-gun player raised preflop and Deeb called. The flop came {Q-Hearts}{4-Spades}{10-Hearts}, the player UTG bet 2,000 and Deeb called. The turn was the {7-Spades}, the UTG player checked, Deeb bet 3,000 and his opponent called. The river was the {5-Clubs} and the UTG player pushed all-in. Deeb thought a moment, and then called his bluff. He was right. Deeb turned over {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} for a pair and his opponent turned over {A-Hearts}{J-Hearts}. A good start on a flush or straight, but not good enough. After the hand, Deeb had about 24,200.
